Roman vs Sassanid After Action Report

Had a very large 28mm Late Roman vs Sassanid Persian game this sunday AAR report on the blog.

Wow, great battle, great theme, great painting and great ruleset too (at least for this kind of games). How many figures you used?

Splendid armies.   Encourages me to finally do some work on the Sassanids who have been neglected for some years.  Liked the table top finish as well.  The Roman legionaries looked good on their deeper bases and I have used those casualty counters as well.   The Roman commander scurrying back on his own private road was a nice touch!

Thanks guys.

There were approx. 300 Roman Foot and perhaps 80 horse.

There were at least double that in Persians so maybe 1200 or so troops on table.

The commander trotting down the road is a lovely base, albeit slightly odd in the middle of the desert.
