Bases for saga.
« on: April 13, 2017, 06:13:11 PM »
Hi I'm building up a Footsore Pictish warband for Saga. I usually use 1p or 2p coins for bases.
Which size is preferred by players.

I'm in the US, so don't know the UK coins sizes, but the GB SAGA figures come with 25mm round bases if that helps.

1p is pretty much a 20mm base. So the same way you'd get them on 20mm square bases . . . . :)

I would say the 2p would be best, I'm sure in the C&C book it gives 'recommended' base sizes of 25mm

Put all my Footsore mins on 25mm washers and gave them all a little magnet too. Does just the job!

(can't see how you'd get a 28mm fig on a 1p anyway).

Most of the 28mm figures I use go quite easily on a 1p. It's my standard go-to base for 28mm. I only upgrade to 2p for certain manufacturers with largish figures and the occasional uncooperative blighter with very widely-spread legs. Oh, and fellows like charging Zulus whose shields tend to make them tip over if based on a 1p.
