Awu, I love the patterning on the tunic fringes of the Vikings. Very understated but when you notice it...wow!  :o

Thanks
From early fascination i grew to quite dislike those models because only think easily paintable (I am to weak painter to make those rudimentary chainmall looking good :( are shields and smal tunic fragments visible. So I try most on those parts :)

I know what you mean. As plastic figures go, I'm afraid IMHO the Gripping beast plastics (the ones to the left of your picture) are not amongst the best - the detail is pretty shallow. But the GW Flagellant heads do work very well on them for crazy looking Northmen  :)

Beautiful colours, detailing, and basing on Aewulf's band, Awu! I'm taking notes for some Middle-Earth Northmen types that I've been gathering from different manufacturers. In my mind, this is how they should look. Lovely work!
And that black and yellow scheme on the crossbowmen is gorgeous. And again, lovely basing. I'm a basing fanatic, so this match-up is a real treat, with lovely basing in both entries!
