Another top bit of terrain. I like the unified feel you are achieving with these, they all look like they go together.

Yes, I concur, it is very nice.  Though, to be honest, there was one thing that caused a bit of a pause - the fence being essentially the same color as the lumber piles.  Generally, the wood would age a different color than the fresh lumber.  Easy to overcome - they just built the fence!  Or use a light wash on the fence to vary the color.  Still, really nice model as is.

Thanks for all the feedback and comments

My backstory for Beaverlick Falls is that it's an emerging town going through a bit of a boom period. Many of the buildings are still tents which are starting to be converted to wooden buildings, hence all the wood is relatively new.  The Lumber Yard has set up business to meed local demand for timber hence the new look of the fence and office.  I've got a few older buildings planned - the original trapper's log cabins etc. - but they're lower on the list.  I think I'm going to make a boarding house next to cater for the influx of carpenters and other tradesmen.

I 3D printed it on a resin printer.

It's very fiddly and I wasn't having much luck with it, but James knows what he's doing with it (unlike me) so he's looking after my printer now.  If you want a few I'm sure we can sort you some.
You can print out small detailed stuff like that :o :o :o :o :o :o
Thank for the offer, I am now wishing I had a need for a chair like that but I can't figure out how to fit it into any of my current projects :'(

Wonderful Lumber Yard.  All the little touches make it stand out as a piece of first class scenery.   :-* :-*

Finally got back to working on the Beaverlick Falls project.

This time I'm making some big terrain, a butte that can be used as a central feature or be split down into three parts that can be used as individual edge and corner pieces on the table as the scenario requires.

To summarise the method of construction:

Build formers out of 6mm MDF
Add cork bark rock faces
Fill with expanding foam
Trim and sculpt foam when cured
Add plaster to foam surfaces for rigidity
Add groundwork gloop
Detail and paint

Here are some WIP shots showing progress so far, a full description of progress and a few more photos can be found on my Beaverlick Falls blog,  https://beaverlickfalls.blogspot.com/2019/01/windy-butte-making-some-big-terrain.html
