The upcomming Triumph & Tragedy Colonial Game at Tactica 2011
« on: November 23, 2010, 09:42:34 AM »
Hi,

Frank Becker and me both have a passion for the Anglo Sudan conflict of the 19th century.

We also share a lot of miniatures in our collection and like the same rules.

So while we were working on our Stalingrad table watching Gettysburg and planning the Napoleon Project for Leipzig anniversary we decided that we should  present a Triumph & Tragedy participation game for Tactica 2011 !

It will probably be one of the largest Triumph & Tragedy games we ever played.
However, with some new rules and a great scenario we will prevail  ;)

We will construct a new table, with houses, most probably parts of the Nile and lots of miniatures on it.

We already have about 200 painted Ansar. Plus Naval troops, Egyptian Infantry, British infantry  and some Camel troops.

This thread will inform you about the progress on this project and will end with a Tactica show after action report.

The above pictures are a brief glimpse of what will come to you !

Cheers
Frank & Björn

You and the fellow LAFers are a seriously bad lot...

I got in here to get some hint and tips for small scale dioramas, but now I want to do every single historical skirmish - and a lot of non historicals VSF`s, as well...

Shame on you, for leading me astray... :D

Splendid painting and dioramas. Thanks for sharing... :)
Best regards

Harry

Super!  I have to say, Franz Becker's painting and photos in the T&T colonial supplement are some of my favourite eye candy...substantially better than some of that featured in WAB 2, in my opinion.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Thank you for the compliments!  :D

It is a little bit hard to explain how I have painted the native flesh tone (my English isn’t that good). What I wanted in the end was a very dark colour, so I used a chocolate brown (Vallejo) with a black wash (GW) and the three steps of highlights. Hope that helps!?

Here are the next pictures:

By the way: it is „Frank“ and not „Franz“…not every German is a Hans and Franz… ;) ;)
