15mm Havanitos - Scenery!
« on: 21 November 2013, 11:28:38 AM »
I stumbled in a old-ish cigar box a few time ago. I've to say, i stealed to my GF infinite pile of things.

Well. I've been having around since a few years some Blue Moon cowboys in 15mm. I've to say, 15$ for 30 unique poses is quite a great price, but still i had no chances to paint them. But the cigar box inspired me, so i took all them, based them, and prepared the... surrounding.

The insides are magnetized, i can (i did) bring them in my pocket around, none of them is falling off its position!

Now... i've just to paint them. Uff.

Cheers
Jack

Beautiful and creative! I'll follow this with interest.

Thanks! Hopefully, i'll start painting the cowboys soon. I'll also make a short article about the prep of this little box on my site, probably i'll make a thread on Workbench when completed ^^

Cheers

That's a great idea, I need to go to the local liquor store and see if they've got any boxes they're getting rid of, they throw them out from time to time!

Hei! i want one too!

By the way, the first 5 figures are done: the lone rangers!

I've painted relatively fast, but i'm happy with the final look. Sadly, looking them from above they are just hats and coats XD

A sneak preview at the first two buildings fro my skirmish as well, still pretty much WIP:

Cheers,

Well, the good thing is that Blue moon cowboys are quite cheap, they don't blend very well with other companies, but they have quite a terrific look. So it's quite an independent project, that cannot be expanded more than this. Of course, except for buildings.

At the moment no, i don't think there will be resin buildings. But of course, the very nice roof in the picture is made in resin, and so do the windows and doors. all my molds, of course. :)
Basically, there are already too many companies for 15mm cowboy scenery, an for me making one is quite an investment. i will rather sculpt them for me! ^_^

That box is a beautiful idea and well done to boot. Your minis make me feel like crap tho as my 15mm cowboys would look like a pile off poo next to yours.  :(

A great idea. Lovely painting in those 15mm cowboys and the buildings look fantastic too. Another great project to follow.

Great stuff, Jack.
Loving those mini-cowpokes and those buildings are, of course, up to your usual high standard.
