Figures were painted during December - all Crusader Miniatures and all weapon shafts have been replaced with steel shafts to avoid breakage.
Construction has started on the arena - 24" square 6mm MDF with under bracing ( I nearly got into building lower levels but reined myself in!
Hexes are 1" and I will add extra areas along each edge for "off area" actions and intrigues.
Hoping to pick up a copy of Blood in the Sands?

Bloody hell!
That is quite the collection you have there already.
All painted in December, eh?

Bloody good result, high quality output as well.
Lovely!

Looking forward to seeing the arena take shape...

Very nice indeed!!!  :-*

There are a few minis there which I have "side-lined" because I didn't like the look of them but you have certainly brought out the best in them!

Wow!! That is a MOST impressive effort - all painted in December, and to such a beautiful level.  :-*

That would be my output for a year (and at half the quality), NOT a bloody month!

Work on Blood on the Sands continues, although it has slowed over the silly season and due to some real life stuff.

I did openly chuckle when I first scrolled down, because your first Lacquearius there looks like such a huge grump!  lol

Excellent paintjob. I, too, look forward to see the arena. Even in this early stage it looks already good.

Thank you for all the kind comments, the Crusader gladiators are a joy to paint and with most showing large amounts of bare flesh the move along the painting table quickly.

The arena has taken a back seat for February, I have 2 pre-Historicon playtest games for another period coming up this month so all contruction time is being devoted to this.

I do have some big ideas for it though...........
