Cannock Chase WWI training camps to be uncovered
« on: January 25, 2013, 01:20:20 PM »
Not sure if anyone has seen this already but spotted it in my local newspaper. I'm looking forward to seeing this scale model of the Messines Ridge once it's uncovered:

Cannock Chase was a site of WWI training camps complete with its own railway system, hospital etc. and was the UK headquarters of the the New Zealand Rifle Brigade. Worth a visit if you're near the area. It's initially difficult to work out what is what but once you get your bearings it's a fascinating place. Also nearby is the German Military cemetery.

Regards,
Matt
