Yup - I'm no massive GW fan but I'll be having one of these for sure and ebaying the marines.

I won't be buying one of these off GW, but I will certainly be buying one.

I'll be buying this with my staff discount and then maybe getting a second one depending on how much it is.

I am sure it will make some old hammer fans cringe, but I just sold my original Genestealer Cult to fund getting the new ones. While the old metal figures reminded me of earlier good times, I like the look of the new models better.

This may be the first 40k product I have seen since the VSF inspired Mechanicus I have wanted to purchase.  The price point will matter.

As someone over on Dakka said, "The new genestealer cult hit me square in the nostalgia".

I've been GW free for years now except for a slight relapse when the 3rd Edition of Space Hulk (the first one not the second 3rd edition  ;)) came out.  I'm not one of the haters, it's just 40K lost me somewhere after 4th edition and I really haven't been back since.  I've flirted with the idea of catching up when my favorite factions get new models (necrons and tyranids) but just didn't have the time or energy.

But those cult pictures whew!  I still have my old copy of Space Hulk: Genestealer oh so carefully packed away with my first edition Space Hulk.   Mmmmm some new plastic cultists to go with my shiny 3rd edition terminators.  That's the stuff!

Gonna need more terminator librarians  Do they make those in plastic yet?

I don't think I'll pre-order it, but if the reviews come out good I'll probably pick up a copy.  If the reviews come out poorly, I'll try to ebay just the figures.

While this particular set doesn't do anything for me (likely won't buy) this is how Betrayal at Calth hit me.  A line-drive to something I was interested in.

This is simply fantastic! I will certainly buy one of these, and revive my Cult!

It's really nice to see how carefully GW reconstructed the Cult; there are even little familiars. Now I just hope they make a full Army of this one. I always wanted a coven limousine when I was younger!

Just when, after many years, I'm finally close to getting the old gang back together (read: I've been slowly collecting the old genestealer hybrids for a Necromunda Genestealer Cult gang), they release this!

They certainly are lovely models, but unless I can get my hands on those cultists fairly cheap, I will probably stick to the old metals. Those have been in my system for so long, I just can't let go.

A couple of years back, I was almost sorely tempted to fill in the gaps in my gang's roster by using the plastic WHFB Ghouls as the basis for conversions, as I had seen some truly inspirational examples. But in the end I decided to stay true to my goal of using only the original range.

And these are looking even nicer. Gotta give GW credit where it's due; there seems to have gone a great deal of thought and research into these, as they are 'right' in every way (as right as alien hybrid mutants can be, obviously). It'll be a hard struggle, once more pictures will become available, to resist, but I have confidence in my own stubborness... :D

Also, I have to add to the no-marines-for-me chorus; not only do I have plenty already; these (as opposed to the cultists) just feel lifeless and lacklustre somehow and just don't do it for me.

I'm curious about the game somewhat, but I'm sure it'll not be a reason to shell out €135,- . So here's to hoping they'll eventually release the cultists on their own; I just might fall for them then...

Yes. The limo.

Thirded; I just have to have one for my gang as well!  8)
