I am gonna have to get all of these AND finally build my hacienda to house them, I reckon.
You are a bad man, Señor.

Wow - these are nice Nick. Civilians add so much to any game. :-*
I wonder would Rosa the Flamenco dancer be OK for use in the Peninsular Wars? I bet she would.
-
(No Comanches, but a Mariachi band)
If so, the guy with the mandolin is a comanche disguised as mariachi ... lol

Crocketts Going in the mould with these.
Great news :)
-
Lovely figures, will definitely be buying these. :-*
-
I'll go with the herd here - excellent figures.
Is the dancer going to also be available separately? It seems to me she would fit into genres that the band would not (like fantasy).

She is probably going to be sold with the band. But can make exceptions for LAF friends. ;)

My, aren't they rather Peachy :D
-
"She is probably going to be sold with the band. But can make exceptions for LAF friends"
Thanks. I will pick up one of the bands - we are just now branching into Western gaming and can use more civilians - but I can see us wanting more than one of the dancers.
They really are excellent figures.
-Michael
-
I like them that much, I'm trying to work out if you can get them in my Judge Dredd/2000ad project! ::)
-

Just sculpt on some knee pads and they will do just fine as the inhabitants of Sergio Leone Block.
:D ;)
I understand how you feel, though, as I am now working out exactly how to do that hacienda that I have wanted for ages....

Doña Maravillas Guadalupe Trinidad Presentación Imaculada Concepcion de Matamoro y Gomez.

Those sculpts are fantastic. So far I have resisted the whole Zorro-Tex Mex-Alamo genre but I can feel my resolve beginning to weaken.

Hurrah! lol
There'll be a game at BLAM to tempt you even further. ;) lol

Excellent! The wrinkly old duenna is my favourite ;D

With a boat load of pics posted to LAF for those unable to attend I hope :D
Lovely sculpts Nick.

These are excellent, it's good to see civilians for any range. As others have said they add a lot to a small scale game especially.
Well done for not just producing figures with guns. Your range is generally outside my area of interest by a few years but these civilians would stretch the time scale quite a bit.
Do you have any comparison pictures with Black Scorpion and Artizan Western figures, I have a feeling that my town needs to be set a bit further south than originally planned.
Hope they sell well for you.
Cheers
PS just seen your links on the Mexican hamlet thread, you have some brilliant civilians, I've seen your buildings before and have a lot of the pics stored away for inspiration but not come across a game report - wow.
-
Hi Vagabond,
Thanks for the kind words. The figures will sit perfectly alongside the Artizan figures. They are very similar in height and build.
I am not sure about the Black Scorpion figures as I don't have any in my own collection.
-

Not sure that I have any comparison pics (the Photobucket Fiasco has seen to that, I think...) but I cannot see any reason why they would not match up well enough as I have mixed Boot Hill with both Black Scorpion and Artizan in the past.
In fact, I am grabbing these to go with my own BS Mexicans as soon as Nick has them back from the caster.
(I have found one of my threads with BH and Artizan in them here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=90310.15 Hope that helps somewhat...).
-
Superb!
-
Malamute - thanks for the quick response, I think I will give them a go next time I am spending money.
I don't have any of Artizan western figures but have quite a few of the thrilling tales range, the BS figs are generally close enough for me.
Mason - thanks for the link but I didn't see a comparison photo (probably my eyesight) although I did see some nice conversion work. :)
Cheers

No specific comparison piccie...
I should have specified that the New Orleans Greys are a mix of Boot Hill and Artizan.
They blend so well I cannot remember which are which.

Senor Nico, very well done. :-* :-* :-* :-*
You will have my money. :)

Brilliant! I so need those :D

Finally! All of these are going on the list.
Now when will you do the following pack with a balding mute servant? ;)

I think these are just lovely. I am collecting peninsular war Spanish and can see that most- possible all- of these figures would be perfectly at home in my collection.

Ooh .. new wants..
Soon be time to revisit south of the Rio Grande..
-
Beautiful figures will certainly have some of these, and Crockett.
-
In anticipation of buying these lovely new figures I have been forced (forced, I say) to buy Zorro and some Presidial troopers etc. Very fast response from Nick, looking forward to painting these and the new figures when they become available.

:D
The Zorro stuff and Texas Revolt are very interchangeable. The terrain is dual purpose and the figureswork for both types of game. ;)
On a serious note the Texas War is very gameable with limited numbers of figures, as many of the engagements were large skirmishes. Look at Levied Troop's thread as a great example:

Thanks for that link, a thread to follow, definitely. I wish I could go tomorrow and have a look at levied troop's game. I see you recommended Stephen Hardin's book Texan Iliad so I have ordered a copy. That seems like a good place to start as I know very little about this conflict. Looks like you're talking me into it! ;)

Hardins book is excellent. I found it a very enjoyable easy read. :)
The scenario options are endless and there is a lot more to the war than just the Alamo which is most peoples point of reference. In my opinion the Alamo is the least interesting fight from a gaming point of view as its a forgone conclusion.
Levied Troop's Conception is great one to do, fairly easy terrain to build an no need for loads of buildings. Mind you I really like the seige of San Antonio de Bejar and that involves building a whole town ;) ;D
Good luck, let me know what you think of the book in due course. :)
-
Thanks for the pointers there. I shan't be building the whole town (yet!).

Will do, cheers.

I bought that some time ago when Mama recommended it and have still not gotten around to it.
As I am the last chapter of book six of ASOIAF I think I deserve a change of pace and subject so now seems a fated time to finally read it.
:)

Maybe we need to arrange a Sharp Practice 2 Texas War of Indepence weekends gaming. ;D ;D

I don't think so, I am focused on building a small western town 1870's or so but at some stage I want to do an Adobe town, very impressed with Malamutes work on this.
However I did look in my French Indian wars box and there are some Dixon mountain men that in my innocence I have been using as trappers in Canada. So I have about a dozen painted figures.
Really like the top hats :o

I read it for the same reasons, and yes, it is a great read! Blood of Noble Men is also excellent.

I don't know, I go on holiday, and you have these beauties sculpted up.
Stunning. Absolutely stunning.
