I am now at the top of a.....

 lol

Hardins book is excellent. I found it a very enjoyable easy read. :)

The scenario options are endless and there is a lot more to the war than just the Alamo which is most peoples point of reference. In my opinion the Alamo is the least interesting fight from a gaming point of view as its a forgone conclusion.

Levied Troop's Conception is great one to do, fairly easy terrain to build an no need for loads of buildings. Mind you I really like the seige of San Antonio de Bejar and that involves building a whole town ;) ;D

Good luck, let me know what you think of the book in due course. :)

Thanks for the pointers there. I shan't be building the whole town (yet!).

I see you recommended Stephen Hardin's book Texan Iliad so I have ordered a copy. That seems like a good place to start as I know very little about this conflict. Looks like you're talking me into it!   ;)

I bought that some time ago when Mama recommended it and have still not gotten around to it.
As I am the last chapter of book six of ASOIAF I think I deserve a change of pace and subject so now seems a fated time to finally read it.
 :)

I don't think so, I am focused on building a small western town 1870's or so but at some stage I want to do an Adobe town, very impressed with Malamutes work on this.
However I did look in my French Indian wars box and there are some Dixon mountain men that in my innocence I have been using as trappers in Canada. So I have about a dozen painted figures.
Really like the top hats :o

That's a tempting thought :)

Thanks for that link, a thread to follow, definitely. I wish I could go tomorrow and have a look at levied troop's game. I see you recommended Stephen Hardin's book Texan Iliad so I have ordered a copy. That seems like a good place to start as I know very little about this conflict. I read it for the same reasons, and yes, it is a great read! Blood of Noble Men is also excellent.

I don't know, I go on holiday, and you have these beauties sculpted up.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

Can't wait to see the Comanches.  ;)
