Imagine what us voters are saying... once again, we wish for a "Both" button!

We're so polite we'd clearly overuse such a thing and no one would win!   :)

This is a place that would deserve said button...

I can't help myself - Tin Tin FTW.

Ouch. Grand ideas both, grand execution... this one's the toughest choice yet.
Corto's jacket is fantastic.

For me it was a quick choice: I just looooooooooooove the way the first picture is presented. A lot of attention to the (funny!) story and it all clicks together so well this way. If you'd presented them as a simple shot it would be slightly funny but mostly weird. Now it's just terrific. I actually laughed out loud. The painting is also a top job...really vibrant and warm colors and they are well chosen. Awesome entry. My favorite entry for round 2 8)

Picture 2 is awesome too. Love the miniatures themselves...great painting and colors and the backdrop is super. The thing that slightly bugged me was the lack of eyes (I know...Copplestone sculpts truly suck eye-wise) and that they didn't really fit together now. But still a really good entry.

Tough call but I loved the truck in the back of the second pic so much I just had to vote for it. The first one is awesome too though!

Very tough choice. o_o
I afraid the eyes have it. :D
I like the whole set up of the first one as well. Tells a story and pulls the five figures together as a group.
Great stuff both of you :-*

I resorted to flipping a coin for this one, seriously. Both awesome entries, great photos & setup, and both in that pulpish vein that's right up my alley!

Heads it was, and the underdressed heroine and her captors got my nod.

What more I can say:
Both entries are superb?

I must say that I do not like very much the choice of colours of No 1 entry. I would like a much more bright colour for their uniform. the lady is fantastic.
2nd entry : superb, all my favourite heroes there and very nice paintjob!

In this case yes, we need a "both" choice button!

She's from Brigade's "Perils and Predicaments" line:

Someone here on the LPL pointed her out to me when I was searching for an Istanbul Constabulary victim.  Her hat is also from Brigade.

Tzar, The League seems to have a lot of more work than your mercenaries  ;)

Cause Mancha is the winner : I know how it could be hard to find a fifth minis to complete a pack of four, and what an ideal victim this young lady is ! Of course, the pith helmet tops it off !  ;D Just great !

I'm afraid though that we'll see a lot more of comics entries in the near future  ::)

meow,
Matt

I've been thinking about that myself.  In fact, I was surprised to find that mine was the only entry using this "gimmic".

I have another entry planned for which I may also use the comics presentation.  The comics presentation allows the painter to tell a more obvious "story" about the minis.  Some collections of five minis don't need a back story to explain why they are together, but other collections of five seemingly different minis may need such a story to tie them together.

Lon ought to add that young lady with the addition of a pith helmet to his range - she works beautifully. Great paint job too.

My vote goes to the Mistress in distress!  :)

I must confess that I do not like the comics presentation. In some way it spoils the photo and colours.  [I think]
I would suggest that the presentation in such cases should be in both form presentation i.e. comics and photos!

That's why I made sure that one panel had all five minis together, more or less unmolested.  That center panel is the shot I would have submitted had I not used the comics presentation.  The rest is more or less icing on the cake, and allows me to show some detail shots.

I thought about the comics presentation, by the way, when I realized that my usual 800 pixel wide shots, being only about 300 pixels high, don't take advantage of the 800 x 800 photo rule.  Not having any scenery, it was hard to figure out how to use the additional room in a shot taller than 300 pixels.  The comics page used the extra height, and allowed me to build in some humor (or so I hoped).

Thanks Manch.
It is a small tutorial to me, being a totally ignorant on photographing (miniatures including).
So, everything is much more clear to me!
