Hi,
I would like to show you the progress of my gaming table for Dracula’s America. Thematically based around a derelict silver mine (with some ghost rock deposits, if you happen to know Deadlands, too), spiced with an abandoned boomtown.
My first step was to get some 45 cm x 45 cm plywood boards (4 mm). First sketches with my first building (Renedra Barn) and some mining equipment:
Next step was to cut the interior of the mine from polystyrene boards.
My second building (Sarissa):
Okay from the outside, but the inside… yuk!
Okay, need to improve the insides of my buildings. Next try:
Much better! But a lot of work. :?
Meanwhile the mine improves, too:
And finally (still w.i.p.) my first game of Dracula’s America (without supernatural factions). 3 players, my mixed posse of Apaches, Mexicans and a mad Preacher with shotgun versus two posses of Outlaws.
Got beaten up badly, but had a lot of fun. This game rocks! Showdown in the tunnels:
My latest addition: Mining Wheel House
(https://www.tabletopwelt.de/uploads/monthly_2018_08/PHOTO_20180820_090801.jpg.31a4e30556edc2cace8fe32eeb2ddf40.jpg)
That’s my progress so far. Now I am heading for some more buildings and more detail on the table. Cacti, skulls, vultures, grass, etc. Stay tuned. ;)
Kind regards
N.

Nice idea, I like the mine. :)
-
That's a great mining town you've got coming together there.
May I ask where the mine building is from (the tall one with the short section of railway line in the last picture)?
RMZ
-
I think it's the Sarissa Precision one.
-
Thank you. It's the Sarissa Mining Wheel House indeed.

Thanks guys, I'll check out their website.

Very creative. Well done.
It makes me want to play on game with it.
-
Thank you. :)
A new "old" shop for my ghost town:

Still some weathering ahead, and six more of those fine Sarissa buildings waiting to be built and painted...
-
Very cool. I really like the mine - a very cool idea.
The Sarrisa mine head building is cool - I too have add a bit of railway track and some trolleys. I find a bit of detailing lifts the MDF buildings a lot. The two things I do are add some strips of card to represent door frames, window lintels, and just randomly added to be struts or other slightly sticky out bits.
The other thing that I really like is to use paper tiles. The ones from Warbases that are laser cut are very quick and easy to use. You can cut them by hand, I have done for a small roof with big tiles, but this really adds to the time taken.
Looking forward to seeng more games on this table. DAM is a great game - the supernatural bits are good, but not overpowering.
-
Brilliant-looking board there- I especially like the fact that you can play inside and outside of the mine at the same time. Glad to hear you enjoyed your first game of DA, too! 8)
Thanks for the close-up shots of the Sarrisa 'ghost town' buildings, I think I might have to pick a few up myself now!..
-
Thank you guys. More buildings have been finished this week, including the accursed diner which is said to be the source of the terrible disease that has turned Deliverance into a ghost town:
Despite of the terrible fate of this town there are still soldiers of fortune seraching the ruins for treasure...

Tonight another battle will take place in this sinister place. Reports will follow. ;)
-
Beautiful town. Incredibly well done
-
Great gaming table. :o
-
Thank you. :)
Meanwhile I have played a couple of sceanrios of the "Forbidden Power" supplement and am in dire need of some Bayou terrain. This pieces under construction shall bear the desecrated church of Dagon. I have been using wooden table mats and the remains of our laundry basket. The bollards are made from wooden pegs.
-
Cool. Looking good already. We haven’t got close to playing the Forbiden Power factions or scenarios yet.
-
Thank you. Below you can see the new terrain piece on my swamp gaming table and my Seraph for my new Twilight Order posse (testing another new piece of terrain).
-
Very nice bayou table ! I'm in the middle of doing a bayou mat. Wich color you used for the water ?
see you
Luis
-
Very nice. I’ve often thought of doing some sort of swamp / water table with islands. This is really good inspiration
-
Hi Nightpaw,
The bayou/swamp board is very effective; great work.
RMZ
-
Presumably you play The Carpenters' 'Jambalaya' on a loop for atmosphere. I can't think of anything more authentically Cajun than The Carpenters.
-
Thank you for your Feedback.
@Luisito: First, I painted the whole board with dark green tinting color from my lokal DIY-store. Afterwards, I sprayed circles from a medium distance with a medium olive tone and a light green tone. After drying the board was sealed with three layers of glossy finish.
@Cubs: To be honest, I've been humming Warrant's "Uncle Tom's Cabin" *) for the last three days while building the terrain, but unfortunately my gaming mates don't appreciate Hair Metal. I will probably use Hayseed Dixie as our gaming soundtrack. But thanks for the advice, maybee I will give the Carpenters a try. ;)
*) The lyrics give me the goose bumps…
"Out on a cypress limb above the wishin' well
Where they say it got no bottom say it takes you down to Hell..."
-
My third posse (Twilight Order) is almost finished. Ladies an Gentlemen, would you please welcome the Holy Order of St. Patrick!
From left to right: Reverend Henry Cane (Mercenary/Preacher), Rob Stewart (Novice), Pater Grigori Rasputin (Novice/Arcanist, Skill: Slick), Tuco Ramirez (Novice), Barakiel (summoned Seraph), Evander Lynch (Crusader/Leader), Sister Mary Mullen (Novice, Skill: Deadeye), Wayne Wallace (Crusader/Novice), Billiboy Thornton (Novice).
Hope you like them. I have gathered this posse for the Forbidden Power campaign, where they have fought two battles yet. While they performed very good in the first scenario (against woodland skinwalkers), I had bad luck between the scenarios (my former leader perished) and they got beaten up badly in the second scenario (mythos creatures kept spawning near my main force and I missed my opportunity fire too often).
-
I'm liking the look of your Twilight Order posse...
RMZ
-
Thanks. .! Nice Posse btw 😉
-
I'm liking the look of your Twilight Order posse...
Me too. Great brush work.
Need to play more DAM. Need more days to play each week!!!
-
After some serious health problems I am finally back to the hobby. At the moment I am working on a kin posse called "The Weasleys". They are all red haired, of Course...
John Weasley, the leader of the pack, is finished. In the first picture, he is standing in front of Weasley Manor.
-
All looking great. Love both main boards. The mine is just the inspiration I need to get on with mine (no pun intended, I think?)
Nice posses too. Where is the Seraphim from? It's the one slot I have missing from my God bothers posse.
-
Brill :)
-
Thank you. @dartfrog: The Seraph is the ReaperCon Sophie from 2014.
-
Great work, Nightpaw - thanks for sharing. I love the mine - that is a very "playable" board. The water on the swamp board came out beautifully.
Good luck to your posse. Sounds like they have had a bit of a rough time.
-Michael
-
Thank you, Michael.
I have been busy building some of my birthday presents over the last couple of weeks. The Sassy Gal Saloon and the Hangman's Gallows are already finished. I have taken some pictures together with my W.I.P. gangs (Congregation and Shadow Dragon Tong.
I have tried a tattoo for the first time but I guess I need some advice to improve the technique.
Kind regards
N.
-
Those are some pretty good birthday gifts! Lovely terrain.
-
The sassy gal rocks.
-
A lovely looking project - lots of detail and all works well together. Thanks for sharing.
-
Some great birthday gifts. The saloon is a big old girl, isn’t she?
I like the tattoo on the Tong figure - I use the same set of IHMN figures for my DA tong - but I haven’t tried adding tattoos to them.
-
Thank you. :)
@fred: You are right, the Sassy Gal is quite a Monster. The Windows were a torture to build. I am glad it's finished.
Yesterday another building was added to my growing boomtown (baptized "Hope", Arizona). The station is ready to become the stage for epic gunfights. The Red Hand Coven is starting to take control of the small town, but who knows whom or what the train expected at High Noon will bring into town...
-
Fine looking collection you have going there, now as I've just picked up all 3 rulebooks for DA you have me wanting to add a western town to an evergrowing list of projects I most likely will never finish. Nonetheless thanks for sharing as always.
-
Hi folks,
I just finished the "Hog"-part of the Hog Tamer for Dracula's America. Hope you like the ugly beast.
At the moment I am desperately searching for a suitable Tamer. The guy should be looking like the one in Forbidden Power. A fat and ugly farmer. Has anybody any idea where to get such a miniature? I've been searching through the ranges of North Star/Artizan, Black Scorpion, Great Escape Games and Wargames Foundry but haven't found anything suitable yet.
Thanks and regards
N.
-
No idea either ("fat miniature 28mm" raises some hilarious options), but nice painting.
-
(http://leadadventureforum.com/gallery/39/13-230719203027-398811647.jpeg)
I used this guy from Knuckleduster. Not all that fat, but I liked the feel.
-
Thank you. :)

interestingly enough: Hope, Arizona (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hope,_Arizona).
"Hope is a small unincorporated community in the deserts of La Paz County, Arizona, United States. Its name was inspired by the community's hope for increased business after merchants visited the town. Today, it consists of one RV park, one gas station, one church, and one antique store. "

wonderful board and painting on your figs.
-
Hi there,
recently I have finished two mounted Apache braves for my Skinwalker posse. Hope you like them. The one with the feathers was the first to be finished about 2 years ago. It's been quite a while for his comrades to get ready for the battlefield...
-
Great game boards. The mine is in particular brilliant. Looks like you have had some great games. I have to keep reminding myself I can not get involved in yet another genre!
-
The whole thing looks fantastic. I love the town and the undead (2 and 4 legged) are all well done. You were wondering about tattoos and I have two possible suggestions you could try to see if you like either. Thin your "ink" sufficiently that it becomes partially transparent. It should give an under the skin look. The other possibility that should have the same effect is to cut your "ink" with some of the skin tone you are using. That should cause it to blend into the flesh and produce the same effect as the transparency.
-
Agreed, fantastic table!
I'm hoping to get into DA/LotOW in the next year or so, and I enjoy diving back into these threads for inspiration.
One trick I've done for 'cheap' faded tattoos is do them in black (or with a transfer) then do a light drybrush of the skin color over it. You can see the result on the two large "Bloater" models here: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=120886.msg1623317#msg1623317
-
great to go throught this thread again. Fantastic.
-
Thanks a lot for your feedback and for the advice concerning the tattoos. I will give it a try with the other members of my chinese posse. :)
-
I was able to finish some more Apache braves during the Holidays. That must be roughly half of my Apaches by now. The rest have to follow soon (see last picture, including the Werwolves and the Werebear).
-
Looks awesome! Covid permitting, I'd like to get a Dracula's America campaign going again.
-
Thank you, metalface. I would like to resume my Campaign for Dracula's America, too. I hope we'll get rid of this pandemic disaster in the near future. I have developed a cooperative campaign of DA together with my son and would like to test it with my friends. It's called "Godless" and consists of three acts, each divided into three chapters. It is for four players, each playing one novice and one veteran character with unique skills for the campaign.
In the fist act, "Blood Canyon", the players have to stop a Zombie force in a canyon outside of their hometown. The more zombies they put to eternal rest, the less will show up in act two in town. In the canyon there are corpses and a deserted camp, where the player characters can search to find goodies like holy water or silver bullets or, (if they are unlucky) death or disease.
Act two takes place in the small town of "Hope", where the players have to escort as much civilians as possible out of their houses to the church in the centre of the board. There the civilians have to pray together with the reverend to create a warding circle. The more civilians are saved, the stronger the circle will be. Each townhouse has it's own encounter table. As before, you can find goodies for the players or lurking zombies.
Act three takes place in a nearby ghost town, where the players have to defeat the Zombie Lord. The surviving player characters from act two will go there together with Hope's posse to face the ultimate evil...
But for now, I finally can present the chief of my Skinwalker Tribe, Raging Spirit, in Human form and Bear form:
-
The skin tones here are incredible. Great job!
This is a lot of models though. I recall DA being posse/gang level, but this looks like a small army! ;)
Well done!
-
Thank you. :)
You are right, you cannot field more than 10 models in a game, but due to the high mortality of characters in our campaigns, it's better to have some replacements ready for action, just in case... ;)
-
Great looking additions - very nice work. I particularly like the blue shirt on the bear to reflect the chief in human form
The campaign idea sounds good too. Hope you get some games in soon - we have found video games work well for skirmishes
-
Co-op campaign sounds cool!
-
Thank you. :)
Today I have finished the chief's right hand, the second Skinwalker, Bark-at-the-Moon. I have tried to do some warpaint this time, because the model looked a bit boring without it. Google told me it was an Apache warpaint pattern, I hope that's right.
-
That works!
-
I like how the white loin cloth ties into the white belly fur on the werewolf.
-
The same facepaint on both versions of the character is a great touch too.
-
Fantastic. How competitive do you find the skinwalkers in the game?
-
Thank you. The skinwalkers are impressively strong in close combat. A charging Werewolf is nearly unbeatable if you‘re not able to gun him down before the impact. In combination with a sorcerer they are great fun to play imo.
-
Three Skinwalker braves finished, that's a total of 22 infantry models, 3 cavalry models and 2 Werecreatures since December.
I have 7 more cavalry models and two Werewolves to be finished, but I must admit that I am a bit fed up with painting Apaches. I will take a break and finish another of my WIP posses. What do you guys want to see next (all of them are WIP)?
- The Congregation
- The Crossroads Cult (KKK)
- The Dark Confederacy
- The Kin
- The Red Hand Coven
- The Shadow Dragon Tong
- The Twilight Order
Kind regards, and stay healthy and alive everybody!
N.
-
Red Hand Coven.
-
Red Hand Coven.
I’ll second that. I feel like I haven’t seen too many of those about the internet.
-
I played a couple of games of red hand coven but they seem to be so under powered…
-
I played a couple of games of red hand coven but they seem to be so under powered…
You are right, compared with the Skinwalkers the Red Hand Coven is quite weak. The Vampires need close combat skills urgently to become a match for the other posses. I pimped mine with Close Work and Mean. And here they are (half of the posse, the other half is WIP).
From left to right: Maria Giorotti, Apache Wallace, Carpathian Guard, The Wichita Witch, Marbas Two Feathers and Der bleiche Marty.
-
Took a holiday and finished the whole godless bunch. Next will be the Congregation I guess. Hope you like my bloodsuckers. ;)
-
Brill 8)
-
These really are fantastic!!
-
From left to right: Maria Giorotti, Apache Wallace, Carpathian Guard, The Wichita Witch, Marbas Two Feathers and Der bleiche Marty.
What models are all five of these? Your paint job and selected colors look amazing for this posse.
-
Thank you. :)
The models are from Knuckleduster, Wargames Foundry, Reaper and Lucid Eye Miniatures.
-
They look great!
-
Thank you!
Now back to the good guys. Today I finished three fighters for my Congregation Posse. One of them was inspired by a famous bounty hunter. Do you recognize him?
-
Great thread! Love the skinwalkers ;)
-
The "D" is silent.
Looking good on the Congregation!
-
Where's the mini from?
-
Thank you. It‘s from the Dead Man‘s Hand Outlaw Posse.
-
Finished some scenery today:
-
After some serious health problems I am finally back to the hobby. At the moment I am working on a kin posse called "The Weasleys". They are all red haired, of Course...
John Weasley, the leader of the pack, is finished. In the first picture, he is standing in front of Weasley Manor.
Who makes the shack model?
-
It‘s 4Ground.
-
My first Zombie for the Congregation is finished, plus some coffins. You'll never have enough Coffins in the Old West...
-
Three more finished today. The posse is growing. :)
-
:o
Your posses continue to inspire...they look great!
Where are these models from? particularly the large one.
Did you end up doing a complete Tong posse?
-
That's one big momma!
-
Thanks a lot. In this posse I have used Wargames Foundry, Great Escape Games, Artizan and Reaper (the big red one).
The Tong is not battle ready yet, finishing touches are missing. I will finish them after the Congregation and Church of Dagon.
-
Looking forward to it.
I'm looking at Black Scorpion and Knuckleduster for most of my DA minis, but I don't think either line has Tong, so not really sure what my plan will be there.
-
Love the skinwalkers. Where are the medicine women from?
-
Thank you. :)
@sir_shvantselot: The one with the buffalo cap is from Battlefield Berlin (Battlefield Babes Range), the one with the feathers is from Reaper Miniatures.
@Jack Hooligan: See the attached picture. No problem fielding North Star's Shadow Dragon Tong together with Black Scorpion or Knuckleduster imo.
-
That is a _great_ reference photo! Thanks for taking it and sharing!
-
Where is your seraphim in your Twilight Order posse from?
-
Thank you. @dartfrog: The Seraph is the ReaperCon Sophie from 2014.
-
The Vessel for the Loas ist battle ready. Furthermore, I gave a fresh layer of varnish to my gaming table for forthcoming swamp scenarios. And finally, I have finished a chruch for my town.
-
Great work on the vessel!
Looks like the start of a Church of Dagon board. Nice!
-
Thank you. I am aiming for a Forbidden Power campaign indeed. I have got 4 more members of my Congegation posse battle ready, did a bit of posing with the board, and finally, something big is coming to represent the cyclopean ruins in the Bayou...
-
Reaper do an amazing giant crocodile, which may work as a monstrous alligator.
Your board and minis all look great.
-
Wow, thank you Mr. J, this is an awesome beast, need to get it!
I have managed to get the whole Congregation Posse battle ready, here they come:
-
Makes me think of that quote from True Detective "Why do so many people go missing along the bayou? Someone should do a study on that."
-
Great stuff, love the table, the miniatures are excellent as well. ;D
-
Very cool :)
-
Awesome, would fit to Ghost Archipelago or any ither pirate themed game also!
-
Thank you for your feedback. :) Next will be some Eldritch creatures and denizens of the Bayou.
-
I am really enjoying this thread. Your board is great. I especially like the look of the bayou water.
-
Thank you. :)
I am overhauling some of my 80ties Grenadier Cthulhu RPG miniatures for the Forbidden Power campaign and started with the Deep Ones. First picture is right before I started, and the 1st one has been finished today.
-
Very nice bayou board! The figures are great too. Enjoy your campaign.
Luis
-
Nice new paint job on an old mini. Well done.
-
Lovely job on rejuvenating those Deep Ones, and great minis and board all 'round :-*
-
Thank you. :D
I have finished them today and started rejuvenating some other Mythos and Swamp Creatures I will need in the forthcoming campaign.
From left to right: Planar Beast, Dire Gator, Skunk Ape, Spider-Fiend, Lurking Horror, Mycolyth 1, Harrower, Mycolyth 2 und Gibbering Spawn.
-
Cracking table set up and lovely old Mythos miniatures.
-
Wonderful work! Those Grenadier minis are still some of the best Mythos figs out.
-
Wow! The swamp board! Don't know how I missed it. Absolutely amazing! Can I bring my Congregation over to visit?🙂
-
Thank you. Would be a long journey for your posse to visit my board, though. Hope they won't get seasick. ;)
I have finished the Alliagtor, did some work on the Mi Go and the Skunk Ape and started painting some more scatter terrain for the bayou:
-
As lovely as your recent minis are it’s the boats that steal the show for me. I love little bits of scenery and terrain that help set the scene.
-
Thank you! But for now, more creatures of evil have been finished:
-
SKUNK APE!
-
A new danger for the unwary adventurers has arrived on my gaming table:
-
Very nice!
-
Very nice !
-
Thanks a lot! :)
Today I have finished some more enemies. Loup Garou, Bloat Fly (actually a Dragon Fairy, but it's the only flylike thing I've got) an Harrower.
My daughter gave me a book about wolves to help me with the painting job, and I have tried to create some natural looking fur. Hope you like the hairy guy.
-
Great work, you just keep adding more and more cool pieces. Given the trouble I have had painting wolves, brushwork on your Loup Garou model is particularly good to me.
-
Thank you. :)
Today I've finished 2 more NPC monsters that will serve as Lurking Horror and Ragman:
-
Hi folks,
after a long lasting break (filled with Shadows of Brimstone and X-Wing) I've restarted Dracula's America. The Undertaker's shop will fit neatly in my homegrown coop campaign, as well as the undead gunslinger to the left. And another brave town defender to the right. I hope you like them!
-
Loving the undertakers building.
-
Great work! 👍
-
Good stuff, liking the building and the figures
-
Thank you!
Another three models finished over the weekend (Great Escape Games, Reaper and Wargames Foundry).
-
Thank you. :)
Today I've finished 2 more NPC monsters that will serve as Lurking Horror and Ragman:
NightPaw
Where did you get that Lurking Horror figure?
By the way, bayou board is incredible. I love the colors you used. Perfect.
Dan
PS. I think your mine complex idea is fantastic and it might help with this other gaming concept here:
https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=121801.0
-
Thanks a lot. The mini is from Grenadier's Cthulhu range. Late eighties, as far as I remember. It must have lain in a dusty box for decades, but , as you kow, "This is not dead... etc." ;)
Also thanks for your comments on my mine. I guess I never have shown the further progress of this project. The next step was to add a cover to be able to play on top of the mine as well as inside of it. Then I added some details to the interior and exterior. Here are some impressions. I think I will finish the project over the holidays. Thanks for reminding me of that. :)
-
Nightpaw - Your work is fantastic keep posting. I especially love the mine complex I have purchased a lot of items with the intention of making one myself. I will be using a lot of your ideas now. Really enjoy the weird west stuff and the swamp setup is beyond words.
-
Nightpaw
That mine is fantastic! I hope I can do half as well when I do mine.
Dan
-
That is a great gaming table. Really nice work on the mine.
-
Thanks a lot. I will keep on working on my mine soon.
Meanwhile, the boss of my Cowboy/-girl posse for The Curse of Dead Man's Hand is battle ready. Samantha Mulder of the Mytharc Ranch is thirsty for the blood of the accursed Baron, whom she deems responsible for the abduction of her beloved brother. She will not rest before the villain has been sent to Boot Hill.
-
The poor Dire Hog has been waiting for about three years, but finally its master has arrived. Ladies and Gentlemen, would you please welcome the Hog Tamer:
-
Beautiful work on the terrain and figures, they all look excellent!
-
The hog and tamer are frickin excellent!!!
-
brilliant painting and modelling.
-
Crazy thread! I need to restrain myself from branching out into too many projects, now that I have finally come out of my hobby-hiatus. and stuff like this is not helping ... >:D
-
Impressive hog!
Dan
-
Thanks a lot for your comments!
Today, I have finished another building for the doomed town of Hope. Shown below with some vaqueiros. What a pity that the rules for Mexican posses were never published. What about some further material for DA, @Fenrir ?
-
Fantastic! Especially the Hog Tamer!
-
Thank you!
And another building finished:
-
Some great additions - that stable is particularly imposing.
Yes, some rules for Mexican gangs would be great!

This one is my own concoction. It plays very well, IMHO, to give a tough boss with a plethora of cowardly thugs! 😉

I'm finally delving deep into Draculas America, and came here for inspiration.
But, actually this thread is turning me into a no-good rascally thief. Because I'm stealing a lot of these ideas. We hit the motherlode

The game is definitely missing Banditos, and your rules seem flavorful and fun. How do they fare in one-off games or at the outset? I haven't played them, but it seems that the boss wouldn't quite match up to some of the other factions' combinations of starting bosses/special rules, not to mention the downside of the "Adios, El Guapo!" rule. Perhaps a seventh novice at the start?
I'm planning on creating a Mexican themed posse, but just reskinning the Dark Confederacy rules with the Necromancer being a priest/monk (using the Spanish Champion of the Faith model from The Silver Bayonet) and the Revenants being frenzied zealots that were rabble-roused by the priest (fleeing the battle if the priest falls, so I have to use my imagination). The rest of the posse will be selected from Bandito miniatures.
-
They play perfectly for what I had imagined. Think The Magnificent Seven, or The Three Amigos! They are tough enough and can swarm the opposition, but are fragile and individually weak.
We did a $300 posse series of games and split 50-50 wins. Good enough for me, and they are a ton of fun to play.

@Lead Asbestos: Great idea about the Bandidos, but lacking the gothic factor in my opinion. I have done some brainstorming with my son. At first, we thought about some shapeshifting Werescorpions, but that would have brought us to close to the Skinwalkers and the Forsaken. Another thought were some vampiric guys like in From Dusk til Dawn, but we already have the Red Hand Coven.
We wanted to bring some new kind of horror to the setting and finally came up adapting the mythology of the Aztecs (who originate from the territory of later Mexico):
Los Bandoleros Endemoniados
The wild spiritual power of the Convergences has drawn the long-forgotten powers of the Aztec pantheon back to the material world. A dark cult of worshippers has risen around bloodthirsty priestesses, their henchmen haunting the villages on the Mexican border on the prowl for human sacrifices. Some of the most unscrupulous leaders of the infamous Mexican Bandoleros have allied themselves with the hideous cult of Quetzalcoatl, undertaking raiding parties into the southern U.S.
Faction Benefit: El Jefe
Your boss is an infamous and unscrupulous bandit. He gets Ruthless and Gunslinger. In addition, you always get one bottle of tequila (whiskey) and one stick of dynamite at the start of a scenario for free (as long as you don’t already have one). On the other hand, the Bandoleros depend on the strong and ruthless hand of El Jefe. If your boss should be downed, the posse will have to make a Bottle Check immediately. Furthermore, they always get a +1 on rolls on the Outlaw-Table.
Faction Benefit: Aztec Priestess
In addition, a single non-Hired Gun model in your Posse becomes a Priestess of the bloodthirsty Aztec Gods. If the priestess is in base contact with downed enemies, she can take an action to sacrifice them. Every enemy model within 12” is terrified by the dreadful death shrieks of the hapless victim and must pass a 1 Die Nerve Test or get a -1 Die Modifier on his next test. On the other hand, the bandoleros gloat over the gruesome sacrifice. Every Bandolero within 12” who witnesses the dreadful deed (that is, has a LOS to the Priestess) gets a +1 Die Modifier on his next test.
If your Priestess becomes an Arkanist and learns the Summon Power, she will be able to summon the Quetzal:
The Quetzal
This dreadful monster looks like a winged rattlesnake. It is able to throw bolts of lightning at his victims, and his bite is deadly.
Quetzal, Base Size 30 mm, Move 6”, Grit D10. Major Entity. Fearsome, Flying, ‘Ornery. Lightning Attack 6”/12”/24”. Models wearing Boilerplate suffer -1 instead of +1 to their Saving Throws. Can only be summoned by an Arkanist Priestess of the Los Bandoleros faction.
What do you think? Could this be fun? Overpowered? Maybe substitute the +1D/-1D with the effects ob Bless/Curse?
Kind regards
N.
Edit: ... and to get back to the topic of this thread: Attached you will find the latest addition to my gaming table. As you might remember, half of my table is covered with swamp. To be able to do "swampless" games, too, I have built some coverage of foamboard, covered with white glue and sand, painted with light brown, acrylic color, washed with a mix of water, white glue and darker color and finally sprayed from a distance with different colors. Fits perfectly onto the table, and at last I am able to place the whole town of Hope, where a battle betweenm my son's Skinwalkers and my Red Hand Coven is about to start.
-
Great looking town! Thank you for sharing!
-
That table looks grand. And the Aztec influenced Mexican Bandits sound cool.
-
great looking table.
-
Thanks a lot! :)
Edit:
Meanwhile I have proceeded in painting Atlacamani, the Priestess of my Bandoleros. And a fierce battle is raging in Hope between my son's Skinwalkers and my Red Hand Coven. By sheer luck I was able to shot down both of his Werewolves, but alas, my Arcanist and my best gunfighter are also down and one of my Vampires is already shaken, while a Major Entity is on it's way to devour the brave servants of our beloved President...
-
Last week I was able to finish three more models. Two for the Twilight Order and the boss for my Bandoleros Endemoniados, Donna Conchita Banderas. From left to right: Wargames Foundry, Great Escape Games, Black Scorpion.
-
great paint-jobs !
and Atlacamani : knock-out figure and brush-work.
-
Thanks a lot, Bloggard!
This week I was able to finish Jake's Talons, a Dark Confederacy posse I had started in 2018. As I never played them on the tabletop, the models were stowed away, but recently I had a game with them vs. Twilight Order, Skin Walkers and Red Hand Coven. It ended up as a victory for Jake's Talons, so I had to do the final touches.
Colonel Jaques de Talon, descendant of an exiled French noble family from Georgia, is very different from other members of the Dark Confederation with his unit, which proudly calls itself Jake's Talons in honor of its leader. For de Talon, the war is far from over, and his pact with the forces of darkness is not an end in itself, but a sacrifice for a higher goal: the liberation of the Confederate States of America from the yoke of the blood-sucking Yankee president. For him, honor is the highest good and General Robert E. Lee is his shining hero and example. He steadfastly refuses to resurrect fallen Confederates as zombies, because he considers it a heinous disturbance of the peace of the dead. Instead, he limits his necromantic rituals to dead Northerners who, in his opinion, deserve nothing better than eternal damnation. As a result, during his raids against the North, gray and blue soldiers "march" side by side in rare harmony. Always present is de Talon's mortal enemy, Colonel Jeremiah Dolarhyde, who under General Sherman was instrumental in the devastation of Atlanta (in which de Talon's parents died). De Talon swore bloody revenge and personally hunted Dolarhyde down in August 1874. Since then, he has resurrected the corpse of the unfortunate Northerner again and again to unholy unlife...
The eldest son of the Marquis de Talon has managed to save a considerable fortune from the reach of the Northerners, so that his troops, unlike those of other necromancers and/or rebel officers, are extraordinarily well dressed and armed. In addition, almost every one of them wears a red scarf in memory of the Confederate blood shed by the "damned Yankees". This, of course, arouses the envy and resentment of the other rebels, who look more like ragged scoundrels than soldiers, and whose ragged demeanor makes them almost indistinguishable from the zombies at their side.
In the field, the Colonel proudly wears the same uniform he wore at Bull Run, Shiloh and Gettysburg. He despises the sometimes dandy-like necromancers in civilian clothes, who accuse him of hypocrisy and the use of Yankee corpses, which they consider to be unstylish and tasteless. As a result, there are always violent clashes with other gangs of the Dark Confederation. But when the opportunity arises, he always prefers Dracula's minions, the cunning scoundrels of the Crossroad Cults, or the pagan savages of the Congregation as victims of his campaigns.
Hope you like them. The Zombies are about to follow soon. :)

Just read this thread from page 1 and I kept thinking 'that's amazing, he's peaked now', only to be proved wrong by the next page.

Great looking recent additions.

Thanks a lot, guys. :)
I think I'm getting into a flow... my current projekt is a river section for my gaming table. I have bought the Sawmill from Sarissa, and a sawmill needs water, right? So I took some foamboard and startet cutting:
-
After the plaster had completely dried, I spread white glue all over the board, scattered sand all over it and let it dry for 24 hours. Then I painted it with a mix of terracotta-brown tinting color, white glue an water to fix the sand completely.
After another 12 hours of drying time, i made a wash from darker tinting color, water and rinse aid and added a bit dark green for the river bed. The I glued small stones and deko-plants into the riverbed.
Now I am waiting for all this to dry, before I will do the final step with transparent castin resin.
-
This looks promising. Can't wait for the finished piece. 👍
-
Thanks a lot. I am eagerly waiting for the casting resin to arrive (like my Dire Gator and my Deep Ones who are starting to dry out).
Meanwhile I have blended the new board into the color scheme of my existing board segments, done some drybrushing and made some tests with the next buildings to come - I want to build a scratchbuilt Sleepy Hollow style covered bridge and have bought Sarissa's Sawmill.
-
The blending turned out nice, it's a nice colour. And the watermill will look great there.
Did you think of adding some hills/height to the foam to build it up a bit more?
Cheers
Matt
-
Thank you, Matt. To be honest, I am no friend of including hills and other fixed structures onto my gaming boards. I did this once with my ruined city table für Warhammer 40K. Looks great, but brings a lot of limitations to my setup. I prefer to build separate hills that can be moved around the board. I will certainly build some separate mesas for my table, but this will be another project. I have always dreamed of a structure like Thunder Bluff in World of Warcraft, with rope bridges connecting the rocks. :)
-
You need to slow down a bit. You're making the rest of us look bad.
-
Sorry, pal, I promise I'll restrain myself a bit... o_o
Ah, by the way, yesterday night I prepared my board for the final step by putting pieces of hardboard to the open ends of the river with my hot glue gun. Today the casting resin was delivered. I can hardly wait 'til tonight... but alas, I have to do a bit of real life work before.
Before breakfast, I also continued with my Dark Confederacy posse and put some highlights to the Revenants.
Kind regards
N.

The resin must flow. :D
-
I really love the Talons, miniatures and back story. Well done
-
Thanks a lot! I love to write some background for my posses to improve the immersion.
And now... rataplan...
DONE!
:)
-
Outstanding work. I absolutely love this terrain.
-
Fantastic river! Inspirational!
-
Great river! Was it easy to work with the resin? Any bubbles? Heat problems?
-
That looks great :)
-
Thanks a lot!
@ichwillauch: The handling was easy, but you have to seal the edges very carefull, otherwise the resin will flow relentlessly through the tiniest holes. I ruined a part of the floor of my garage that way. :(
No bubbles, no heat. The stuff was a bit expensive, about 59 € for 3 litres including shipping, but I am absolutely satisfied with the results. Took about 3 whole days to dry.
-
Beautiful terrain boards. :-*
-
A great board. TY
-
That turned out great, good job. What a great bit of terrain to break up the table a bit.
I like the colour the resin work came out, clear green looks good
-
Hello again,
thank you for your feedback. :)
Finally, I have finished another addition to my gaming table. Some Aztec Scatter-Terrain from Green Stuff World. Soon I will do some test games with my homegrown Bandito faction for Dracula's America. And my Church of Dagon should be finished soon (still missing some final touches).
Kind regards
N.
