So, yeah... I played out my first Five Parsecs From Home campaign turn for the crew of the Century Flamingo. Our Heroes, two Droyne and four Vilani humans had recently arrived on Windsor (Glisten 0305 for the Traveller fans) and were seeking some work. There were no licensing requirements to set down and work. The pink vegetation covering the planet did tend to get into everything!
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiScq6AFudLQntIFsKWlOmafxgo6i_ZnrXT82Wu7MqGdEZp_WDb_mplQPKhWD0rkC-Jv6F4_lc8xN__7tuzL0pJtl5phfz5zEG9-9-TpBUke1NWdAivOlXGzlM3rQGgwQA2gHVmJSqeDEZ6QNXlkqKU5Q0BPkJ_nJrYg_eqT0_giDFt2XkACS1o3eCdugo-/s2048/Game%201%20b.jpg)
They had an opportunity to deliver a (most likely illegal) package to a remote survey installation in the wilds. Unfortunately, their delivery trip was noticed and acted upon by a criminally-minded group of Raiders who went to intercept the crew as they approached the station.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinDlm13a1tukqYFs1o1yqJ42wowCJTRwToVukc6SqZic8aT6gYAIZ8EkuAmSB3U8uDUj2oMGwbD6QIv0gXglMcIaODpjMW_knDJC-gEGFg6B1NgKdf0vhQ1GuCouw9Q7rRHTrzBAcyblFlmS3iLyS75PEwAwr2IKz14qvrIxZPxx_0jioU0el5XNEAYoBt/s2048/Game%201%20a.jpg)
The package itself was being carried by O Oymsse, the Droyne Sport and second in command. Asvyaxke Dre and the four humans would provide covering fire while O rushed to the station door and knocked. That was the plan, anyway. As it turned out, it worked pretty well.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHRAvosaWFfJHr5nVj-v6DzUcPONx4fnyW0srnE2TOr1CDt2Jhm6mnO49XOeB59GMakQyZgIs6OcYfZpon3202AQt6CyTCQobYwdDlD5Zh8bDX4I8YEgqzK0_Zr2iHXXXjoqRSBmj6dNtIPcFDeikSL06o-WVflq8Pruij5wkze6F-pFLjQK8uBEOSliwX/s2048/Game%201%20c.jpg)
In the first Turn, Asvyaxke and Aim Iashna both moved into a clump of pink, pink foliage for both safety and for Aim to get off some good shots. Everyone else moved forward, Khirki Nishekke moving slower so he could take a couple of shots (both useless, by the way.) For their own part, the Raiders moved forward but did not shoot.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOmYOAtEmEOcUe6PmjwB2HT22_AW_ycwK33WAlXMBXcxpghFR5mjMNmAkzyEwNt9pg87Ks0DhhGCZBuY-mvtMuYjlBcIJ_EfCwA8EWbJIEWfOsdNWlS9pS_95OF5sIVCPzfdPF9yA_RK_9IHGdgtQfzAxDxPXGQmsGGXY_XNbLgP_gq2R5dgC9hhgQmGCW/s2048/Game%201%20d.jpg)
Turn Two had O scooting ahead, trying to use the station itself as cover while the Raiders advanced, squeezing off a few ineffective shots of their own. Aim aimed, and failed to hit his target despite his multiple bonuses to hit. Khirki shot again without effect, and Iruurlaa Kheug took a shot at the Raider with a clingfire pistol, dropping the criminal in his tracks. Aaur Iigunim fired as well, albeit ineffectively. Asvyaxke moved out of the foliage to try and get closer to take a shot at the bad guys, a decision he would later regret.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiqcXWmguvPYeZYZCWoQUcK5ALFooUreDiNamohc1ZS2l72_jLf59cliOzmdQIijJvvlvagx-moFAPDpG93jxobUD1sFbaT_J90boNJnwQb2OYfMit26Kbra_Xwobt2SYfEh-CJlnac7IXzlihyphenhyphenTOzA7DomhyiwctxuItAQmWftwEVHz28KryVDiksFR42/s2048/Game%201%20e.jpg)
The third Turn had everyone except Asvyaxke advance as one, squeezing off shots or, in the case of O, knocking "shave and a haircut" on the station door and getting ready to flee. Of those shots fired, Aaur found his mark and killed another Raider. Aim really was not living up to his name! The Raiders returned fire while cautiously moving closer, but found no targets.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheRtkxv1o-fxJ-F7YUSutaL-8Hnk6Q4gxAqufP4esruORL3dj0rQ-R_i2fAvIRALJh7_BjBg3951cA3iHCKVYQrvhRzySzRv1AXROPTiHzPVS57MOVsytpzbglwtHga2Vm3hIxBtw9zO30Y6mI3pthhR9q38_-Gvilq3UstiQq7SPnWx-IG1qdw4bIBTHH/s1408/Game%201%20f.jpg)
In Turn Four, O scooted off to investigate a shiny pink carapace ("Curious Item") growing out of the ground, and Asvyaxke killed another Raider with his hand cannon. In return fire from them, he went down as well, becoming the first casualty for the crew. Aim finally found his mark as well, making two Raiders down this turn.
Turn Five started with O fiddling with the pink growth and extracting some valuable samples from it. The Raiders then fired on the crew, but without effect. Our Heroes returned fire, and Khirki killed another Raider.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgccZ_xkEgc-ZCxw5YwYJ0Uz5mdsuS4S-BRQX9T21KQ5x18ngeZZmENxbhw2z6Kmgpu2qYNUIgglDNeQOrKFCSWRokyQgXHsYoTsmKxRJkRu_p75k7lIep-9dT33Rzq8Ucyt-MYfHKRNTiA0zmjUVVFKo25iaaj3mkH39HtJEKKduJWyk58vKnMqwqIGiWZ/s2048/Game%201%20g.jpg)
In Turn Six, there was a great Initiative roll: four "1"s and a "2" The entire would be able to activate before the last Raider. With both the package delivered and the anomaly investigated, the crew of the Century Flamingo began to withdraw. They had not held the field, but they fulfilled their mission and found something of interest to sell later on.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5LNC5qoUDe02PgOU9ZtNqCSKTgmCfjE68JqVr4RUpZLivhcM92e3qbNYZgSQJKhWwToa1kKy0SDfeilsrPbUDLd_O5tm02P-kDVDg52kJSL3fmLAc1jS1JqbWhOD-WJy9MSolmlQDaAILI6bCHzn2v_XgaGw_vuOvt6JmSqkFxqfp6UMtqB_gus7iNbNn/s2048/Game%201%20h.jpg)
As it turned out, the Raiders would not become Rivals... with only one survivor of the gang, perhaps he learned the error of his ways and went off to Law school.... Asvyaxke looked like he might need some immediate surgery, but as it turned out the human doctors were ignorant of Droyne physiology, it was just a minor wound and he only needed a Turn of recovery to get back on his feet (a Story Point was spent to re-roll the injury.) And that anomaly O investigated? The samples were worth 1 credit. And the crew was paid 4 Credits for the delivery.

The pink terrain is EPIC!
Thank you!

Very colorful. Thanks for the report.
-
Great report and a wonderful table.
-
Nicely painted crew and I love that table setup!
-
I get the strangest feeling that Theodor Geisel would have loved this batrep as much as I did. Great work!
-
Great AAR.
-
Nice AAR! Those raiders were fairly persistent, not bolting and running once losses started to pile up. In my games, it seems every time I hit an enemy another one runs...!! lol I've noticed my rolls are better in my solo games than when I am gaming with friends.
Looking forward to the next installment...!

I rolled a stupendous amount of "1"s except when I needed the persistent Raiders to run away. All the "6"s seemed to go to Raider morale rolls!

Dr. Seuss was a big influence on this particular terrain project!
Can see it now - keep coming back to see the pink terrain; totally borrowing this idea!

OK, so I played my second campaign turn of Five Parsecs From Home, continuing the Voyages Of The Century Flamingo. Our Heroes spent some time Training, with O and Aim both gaining an experience point. There were five Credits paid towards the ship's mortgage, we now only owed 19 Credits on it. And general upkeep for the crew cost us one Credit. Asvyaxke was still recovering from his slight injury, and so would not be participating in any crew shenanigans.

And shenanigans were had! The guys were hired to patrol a parking lot out in the wilderness (why there was a parking lot out in the wilderness remains to be seen!) There must have been something important there, because while they were approaching their area of employment, a three-person Black Ops team was approaching from the opposite direction. O quickly chittered directions so they could meet their checkpoints while engaging with the enemy.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCLsxRR29DZR8o7DetFAlImz8iQc9i9P6-CgbVmN8ynrbbPHizWYB-aLIQ7QskjKtZ2P-RpronnV-77AMD6w47FzAR5DV9n4a7LrY6ZpH23bvcRmy-yRA0b0nqugNRm-6e4JBm6l-Ls8TqHg2EnuWX4cnmHG9pLF9HLXJ_o5myMEqsEa3jSLXJH0huRVNo/s2048/Game%202%20c.jpg)
In the first Turn, Aim aimed and found his target, a nice shot made at range into cover, rolling a 5 to hit and a 6 to wound, he dropped the Black Ops girl in her tracks. The other two Black Ops women moved forward, and one took a shot at Iruurla (but missed.) Iruurla and Aaur returned fire, with Aaur killing another opponent. Khirki then moved over to check on the first vehicle and O ran towards a checkpoint next to a plant, of all things. Weird place to have a checkpoint! That last Black Ops girl, though, she held her ground.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhwJs-uouUOL-vmB2RXoafH_qhagj_oUasEb7jem5bICMCHNeHKVR0cToFzcWS0hjNCdmNgz3G7qsZjTY2AGOM8zGQ_MQ4Vf0N8SRrPs0lLf12tycjhEiCo0Ds4uxRsw4kSWs9AzOrx_PrN9fyjV0L-BUPJIk5MADJ73dpbhztJlsKEyzBbaQ48iQNHzUo/s2048/game%202%20e.jpg)
Turn two saw Aim aiming again, and while he got a solid hit, he did not meet or exceed his target's toughness and so only caused a Stun. She in turn shot at Aaur, but missed. Aaur returned fire, causing another Stun, O reached his checkpoint and also shot at the final Black Ops target. While he hit, again there was no wound but another Stun... and after three Stuns, a mode is removed! Woo! We did it! We held the field and could complete the mission at our leisure!
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcjoJaNmmT0cio21CjtMNsPAsrIIE_9cABrmJfQXPsdPkmQtO882-iiaRwjqWs37gPvwQCZgaPswJLDMjmu7sGo96xEIFywV3UAhdTdSnrwArAxMR36hGa2PimBbHrBz_pRCo6Epk6GqHfO9_j8K-q2ktU6Mt0daRbw5kWQw3qN47ZZC8idFIRFmtvfNem/s2048/Game%202%20f.jpg)
Post-battle, it did not seem like there were any Black Ops team members left to become Rivals. A curious data stick was found on of them, yielding a Quest Rumor. Another had a Glare sword... shiny! And we were paid three Credits for our trouble.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzbFxqcB6Ul1bvEjoeN4FIFRFK6bIJbEWFr2u_xidqdUJ57duHhXYPP_l3e9lsdKF4U3BELkcPsRdEt1vJ2lctxZ_mZulCEEVvbeYZCulxhgHtIKBKqGruHAskh6wYiFTry4zQVw0zOEa5ow0VPOaCf1xv-5oNEKl4JK1UQB2WBQqhd8YJgjqEf6e0sof5/s2048/Game%202%20d.jpg)
I was pretty nervous when I rolled up the Black Ops team as the opponents, as we were down a crew member and we might need to move around a lot for this mission. I was lucky there were only three of them... six might have wiped out the whole crew. And this had to be the shortest game ever at two turns!
-
How did they find the data stick? A clue a clue!
-
Your painting skills have really boosted those Cannon Fodder models in my eyes. Love the original crew too, well done mate.
-
Fun stuff! I enjoyed the AAR -- nice to see Aim finally learning how to aim...! lol
Makes me want to roll up my final quest mission for the crew of the Inconceivable. It has been since November that I played Five Parsecs... :'(

Loved to read both runs. Thanks so much!
However, if I had a crew trying to work on that planet, I can't help but think they'd have tried to eat the scenery...
Delicious! *cough cough* *expire*

Crazy looking terrain, but nice idea :)

YEEHAW!!! Gaming is back on the table! After my successful Five Leagues From The Borderlands game the other day, I decided to try and get Five Parsecs From Home going again as well.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-_eDWQyvdSlYkqSSG9cEmMeTaUvwb6U6aEXVwG4FzWuymzCSCCmIpnWFdvkQ4BRBSgLbBLJdOgnnfALF-sCFTwbaFWQBL3mJq42-2qajAVLPtq_shHsFRlhKFg77ZY9H_6SouQ9qY992xwKd1Px9YOOMH7I0MtohGHM0e9ynAmuFLt-BexS2CAV1AqpBq/s2048/Game%203%20a.jpg)
So I played the third campaign game of the ongoing adventures of the intrepid crew of the Century Flamingo, in which Our Heroes took an opportunity job to attempt to access a data terminal in the middle of f***ing nowhere on this crazy pink planet they are visiting. And it just so happened to be a "religious shrine" for a nomadic band of scavengers that were returning to the area. The scavengers would be very happy if we all just left their shrine alone and went away, but we had a job to do and it was getting done even if we were under fire!
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCU7TWRiQ7R7dK6_b62UQSPnpRQQBfXgWqPrH8QMaN8iZiTl2v6mKeh4ObgfPsuDU_Q39OyqJr3H5lmlN1kOmIeVQmOnVgopNIuwR2brKjW7Fw4lGOJvbx2W-ZV3vmPEIrp2IKt5Sny1G-LqGwPNvv7ON0dTybLCr3EGQHlRYFDw1uwP8qJglarlyQZjyd/s2048/Game%203%20b.jpg)
As the scavengers were approaching in two groups, we split into two groups as well, with O Oymsse, Iruulaa Kheug, and Khirki Nishekke taking the left approach, and Asvyaxke Dre, Aim Iashna, and Aaur Iigunim on the right.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZqU0c3vGeocPMNiGeXalEOfZM1IwcDvbsmXg_mmtSheZ_zKrExhWkLPWiHOzzGuy6JJMPqP7ErRyRrVvHaEju4j1SLQ2p4O5uLD_9e7Ca1ZJMuSP4Keh1wNVgaT-HyYC_V5QVBSVeiEfMb5LeKmyKRoOHl1zlZ_UHvuJPGOPMxs_pyTa925qqHq7Sg0YR/s2048/game%203%20c.jpg)
In meta-gaming terms, Our Heros managed to make a single favorable Reaction roll during the game (Aim took a shot and dropped a scavenger on that one,) otherwise acting after the scavengers each turn. Asvyaxke completed the mission at the terminal on turn three, and during the escape after the scavengers took out Iruurlaa and Khirki in turn four. All told, three scavengers were killed, none fled, and we fled the area without Holding The Field. Iruurlaa turned out to be fine, but Khirki will be out four turns in Sick Bay. We earned four credits for our troubles, as well as looting a couple of damaged weapons. As it turned out, the life support on the Centruy Flamingo blew a fuse, and it cost us those four credits to get it repaired. Asvyaske had an existential crisis being so far from the nest, and is now just trying to survive long enough to get back home instead of trying to create a certain amount of order wherever she goes.

I didn't take a lot of pictures, and the ones I did take look a little odd in the afternoon light. I also missed the "Shiny Bits" notable sight I rolled up once I was setting up the game, so the crew missed out on a potential extra credit.

In other news, after years of use and abuse, my pink alien world terrain is starting to get a little beaten up. I may need to start a Bold New Scenery Project soon.

Again, just love the energy and that terrain!

Nice, I imageine the survivors:
-Grandpa, where did you get that scar?
-Oh, little one, that is from the Siege of Bloody Peak!
-And where is that medal from?
-So many good guys we've lost in the Battle of Devouring Abyss!
-And where did you lose your eye?
-Behold little one, hear the story of the Battle of the Feather Cat Toy Plush Dildo Chenille Forest!

MADNESS! Madness, I tell you! Two games of Five Parsecs From Home in one week? Three numbers in the previous sentence? Our House!

Anyway, I played out Game 4 of the Voyages Of The Century Flamingo. Khirki Nishekke would be sitting out this mission in Sick Bay, but otherwise everyone was available for another Delivery. We've done deliveries before, what could possibly go wrong dropping off a package at a farmstead outside town? As it turns out, a LOT went wrong. A roving band of gunslingers wanted to test their mettle against us, and they were accompanied by a Callous Merc. One of the gunslingers had a warrant out for him, so if he were dropped in the course of the delivery we could collect a bounty. And then (there's always an "and then," isn't there?) Iruurlaa Kheug and Aaur Iigunim stopped without letting anyone else know so they could chat up some ladies.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxEm61pkZylfn82kShlo5MqN86rmLhKoTMzPIOKcBP5A6Fb996mJ9BZDqBMp_BEvEQNF4PBZnLXdAjnHrmUVovEKC4jJq4G0Wm82gqYEjcg1Hnn5u9avEx5yUXGjnaYvgStPI_4q25gHrBmzFFyNmsomV-pWRPh4_NZcofJRyyCHC9B8683qWtd9XGxXzU/s2048/Game%204%20b.jpg)
Aim Iashan climbed on the roof of one of the farm buildings to keep an eye out for the potential trouble, while Asvyaxke Dre (carrying the package) and O Oymsse skirted by the hedges trying to get to the drop-off point before trouble started. And then it happened. Bad guys spotted. Aim took the chance to shoot at notorious Amdi Gaaili and dropped him with a head shot! The Callous Merc returned fire on Aim, glancing him with no real harm but he did duck back. The gunslinger with the autorifle also took a couple of shots at Aim, but missed. The other gunslingers all tried to maneuver into better positions, while Asvyaxke and O moved ahead towards the delivery point. The gunslinger with the autorifle, having missed his shot at Aim and looking at the corpse of Amdi Gaail nearby, decided it was Miller time and left the area for a nice cool beer.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkV8NSrYFTTqHpwRd-mah94pNypEvHmpcYIcQa-1dfCZhtuEp9_OVNGCkDmB-H6G4M-BqZqYmcWXFJUFWW9qcrbBGLtv8_3sjKPGY_3VfHiY44ngKrOVYDzFYu9Dl6sl92a7UNpUZvIKS6vnjafd9TWJ5MTkA7DTti7E22NUEMOMiVSsV0_nUPUeXaQb8M/s2048/Game%204%20d.jpg)
And then shots rang out from the gunslingers a few tried to get Asvyaxke but missed, and the Callous Merc found her mark on O, followed by one of the gunslingers hitting her and knocked her out of action. Aim scooted forward to the edge of the building to line up his next shot, and Asvyaxke dashed forward to drop the package in the safe-box.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVa6gj19Agfmkg9oPYZmBdEIRTwpHoKw3mSYVQNXE_Gx0pnAvMlPnzWelpgnUrcdTMBU8GdI_sWAwmPE7mXdAJFqkhDGQgtF9FuMMMUAMpyXC5qvKswXPXrpF3REgJK9iAFIvEWDXEdsnmLBXX2Se0ajqTanPC85Kg_-QqsJgkKxk-TFhwoVtFO7W-C0HF/s2048/Game%204%20e.jpg)
Aim took a shot at the Callous Merc and killed her with another dazzling headshot, while Asvyaxke began her retreat from the area. The gunslinger with the marksman's rifle hit Aim, as well as one of the guys with a scrap pistol. Aim dove back towards the rear of the building for cover, bringing him close to the back edge. More shots from the pistoleers pushed Asvyaxke back as well.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvzpc9hnI8d_0DWPpTpF6nm9s98NXmQDcoAo591DP9QvPZ8YqEpJykh4l4tBmAWkjEMC81Xvulvc0ULRJraQWqk9gjCid2uTFU7S_pHRjCDhs5kA_OcAjPuQGgw2iGFYylh1pI-9M5Q6vce4qWAQXEX7CC3Nj4CcHoxEdOGVNQxdoRDT-VxeS6_eE-qK1n/s2048/game%204%20g.jpg)
Metagame comments: The last three turns of the game saw the slow retreat by Aim and Asvyaxke, the arrival of Iruurlaa and Aaur at the end of turn four (and I turned my Turn Marker Die to "5" before I took the picture,) and Aim getting pushed off the table by gunfire "Stun" results. O survived and gained a point of experience for his trouble, Our Heroes received 3 credits for making the delivery and a further two credits for killing Amdi Gaail. We also managed to loot a Med-Patch for the Century Flamingo. I burned two Story points to re-roll "down" results on Asvyaxke and Aim, and Luck saved Asvyaxke once as well.

Wow -- close fight! Good shooting saves the day. Wow, turn 4 arrival for some latecomers? Mine always showed up the next turn, or at worst Turn 3, I believe...
Thanks for the AAR...!

Love to see the use of some the old Grenadier Droyne minis! I've got the same two figures, but have lost the wings for one of them . . .

Oh Shit, is that a Snowshoe Cat? I have one as well he's absolutely nuts!

Good looking game and great AAR. Story points well spent IMHO!

All of ours are mixed-breed strays that we rescued. But they do like to chew on the pink scenery.

It seemed simple enough, just take some data cards and bring them to a farmstead terminal. Except that the Digga Boyz, the notorious bounty hunter gang, showed up looking for a fight. Target practice, really. They were in good with what passed as law enforcement on this crazy pink world, so they had free reign to shoot us up as much as they wanted, whether or not we had any actual bounties on us. But, we needed the job and would get it done even under a hail of bullets...

OK, so I played through the fifth game turn of The Voyages Of The Century Flamingo. Khirki Nishekke was still in sick bay, so it would just be the other five members of the crew trying to deliver the data cards. And WOW! Did we get torn up!
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVGar-0Fz_dGmDghFJvRx2NNCoaZ-o2DEftVlcz6FQcg6UNmA_YEWxPCz3_oCcrbTXCKAp4hkzJl-pXdzxlTlI9bPe4PTpzeat1NzP9Lmw6uE5-ACOy4Zqk94UUp7FC-SeYiTW0ZgMzSAvb02an1viR_wM3uIPc15xBbqH1Yrw8SXF3gzArjQuuOl0PtYJ/s2048/Game%205%20c.jpg)
The first turn went okay. Not great, but okay. Aim missed his shot at the Diggaboy with the rattle gun, but Asvyaxke and O made some good progress towards the data terminal before the Digga Boyz moved into cover and sprayed bullets all over the place. Fortunately, none connected with Our Heroes. Aaur and Iruurlaa moved into better positions and returned fire.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAVjy8Q4S9QjTdIqkR1BP3qBGaRg45sUg6nrKvka8b9kxAkofDfxnoYSG6zrDDpQ-EQYaKozjq3C9L6DImkHYGpxynnN-y9Xt-PcMFQqeYtVG7nvx8xVR_gK0sEDi_Ah63-ojuBZHTinUoCAvpNIeQVq61VbvWO6bt_ye0LAsXz6sNU04wHqjTg3n2VY3C/s2048/Game%205%20d.jpg)
And then all Hell broke loose. The rattle gunner found his mark on Aim, and he went down. The Dread Digganob felled Iruurlaa. O made a mad dash for the data terminal and slammed the data card into it, while Asvyaxke took a shot at Dread Digganob and cleanly took his head off. Aaur returned fire at the rattle gunner, but failed to hit.

Turn three did not get much better. The Digga Boyz rattle gunner took down O, and the rest of their shooting landed a couple of Stuns against Asvyaxke. So Asvyaxke moved to get behind the building, and Aaur moved back into some cover and managed to hit, if not kill, the rattle gunner.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFn5SSmE85fYiwc2O7Clj5k0jmcVMbIw69gc2JOxfxTU-9suhRICWLTNAEjjpXjrglBf7l3-MR4I9Q55wlqYvuQX70jG7UtdM9xGTWHIvlHuBr8xgq5IOlDTB_opMGji9i9GvRH3LdD0lVAu7Q1I4ChQZ5xXGcVNgdyE-hGGogzDoAOjjFUjh5qqiOORZL/s2048/Game%205%20g.jpg)
Turn four saw Aaur move further into the bushes and take another shot, but he missed his target. The Digga Boyz returned fire on him, hitting him without injuring him and resulting only in a Stun. Asvyaxk retreated further into the brush line to avoid the other Digga Boyz.

Turn five saw the continued retreat of both Asvyaxke and Aaur, while that rattle gun landed an additional Stun effect on Aaur.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCwP61cjp75wBhdHrKKDtOBxhBiDAnbGOlGrQLIWibOKnPw1q6D-ldKpAXFiU_2FdtGBH3Skwv99p7l-bwvdXr96mhOTwK2-yH_4v7sflTPWi3YbX_xXZ2gNcNUy5U4LAAGcRQm7qWytYn5nzbh6FN2NgX9EycOQvDX4RMrdwn8CaQ9diKGsvtIXLiGHQN/s2048/Game%205%20j.jpg)
On the final turn of the game, Asvyaxke escaped the board and Aaur took a well placed hit from one of the Diga Boyz, eliminating him from the game when the escape was right within his grasp!
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhusnXOp1eQmxh4ip4HuNAxqq50uPRfyFKlUsDG03CAD6EpZMOdX6xZMRcC_UXAzZ0yrEsvsEx9qR68YnDgpnaEGAyvVYRaI09swpqrhvkiU708xuZZyXyLWyfOgzOgc4wBcMWy5062kkeMPw79xVso6PJcWkvz9l4mlecLXsB5bo5GamdAlRNJXirBSdNU/s2048/Game%205%20k.jpg)
After skirmish, we collected our pay of 5 credits and Asvyaxke had managed to snag a machine pistol on his way off the board. Aruurlaa and Aim both made their way back to the Century Flamingo, only a little worse for wear. But where was Aaur? We found out he had died of his injuries there on the farmstead. And O? O used his Luck to survive, permanently removing that point from his stats. Iruurlaa and Aim had the chance to go Explore, and came back with a job offer from Tukera Lines. Khirki has become Depressed over Aaur's death and will not be able to receive any XP next game turn.

OK, so with the loss of Aaur last game session, during the preparations for our next adventure we Recruited, and wound up with a Feral. A Feral Bounty Hunter who came from a wealthy merchant family and wants to be famous. I had initially thought of using an Aslan miniature from the 1986 Grenadier boxed set "Alien Mercenaries" I had finished up a few years ago but 1) I'm not that fond of the sculpt, and 2) this would be a great chance to paint up the last Vargr miniature I have from the same set.
So, meet Uezkfu. She took the crew offer because we had been pretty shot up by the Digga Boyz, and being a bounty hunter herself she despises them.

OK, so I played Game Turn 6 of my Five Parsecs From Home campaign. This one was a little bit different: we managed to find a Patron during the World Events or whatever it is at the end of last campaign turn, and so Tukera Lines hired Our Heroes to do some sightseeing on Windsor. Except it was really to test out some new performance-enhancing drugs for the corporate security team that would intercept us at the site. All we had to do was move through the scenic area and leave. While under fire, apparently. We should have known something was up when there was a Hazard Pay bonus of three extra credits.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-29WNaiekRwxJJPkneTii_MLrRAVpdqEJyfJtggkL9kJ7BEiCRYNCVUSlORMgTmvz_PUKQvJdDtfGyInswAiu7u_ASsMKsEybNavtSohvcE41OZhCQERJkMLxK2dMspVPlggTPcILfdqqA0E7Agd8t1bPfjYbFjQct-N5NYdIBm7FRsEIj3Qs2dGuUHGX/s2048/Game%206%201.jpg)
There were three special effects going on during the game: first, it would be a brief engagement and the game could end at the end of any given turn by the roll of the dice; two, we needed to get at least two crew members of the opposite table edge before the game ended, or eliminate the enemy with at least two crew members left; and finally, there were some Really Shiny Bits worth two credits about six inches from the center of the table.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6r4jz_9BhR7CcTi0k031cpiZSZlTwSmtyx0C0s-xjariRQSrzqW3TITZVPTS1IrLdsqcyllXDIamhOK63noxHYMB1SD4CgfFnc8X3aKI5hlQWPczXD3WFjNPAZU3pCp-JHb6lTe5BNK7D5zjSP2KCNDBpJkGohjnUyUpTIp0YbsFGdH4EevSiU-delK28/s960/Game%206%202.jpg)
The opposition rolled was 9 Skulker Mercenaries; as I have no sci-fi rat dudes, I came up with the "corporate security team testing the running drug" idea to account for the enhanced speed. I used my Cannon Fodder miniatures from Wargames Atlantic for them. I had a great idea: I would run my guys down one flank and the opposition would be light, except I did not account for just how fast said opposition would be.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAo2v5o7wb0-0g4f8cFGctbUx-q9DQSJcpOtKz4lv_XEiTTmSoITsJS7pnJBMwtJa794mfEZmLOJswTghgw1DWpq5epncmGvIN3skRKk5PlmL93Z94gSzYRluodyXLk0dosKpDqppne7uLEbfnnvo1kztursbjRfLhwEYkXmEQJDunUQOhudfd8h-NbhKw/s2048/Game%206%203.jpg)
There really wasn't much to the game. Our Heroes pushed forward and whittled down the bad guys when the opportunity presented itself, Asvyaxke looted the Really Shiny Bits on Turn Four (I was so excited I forgot to take the Turn Four picture,) things were looking really bad for us on Turn Five and then the game spontaneously ended. O, Iruurlaa, and Uezfku all went out of action, with O and Iruurlaa having damaged weapons and Uezkfu needing emergency surgery and will be in Sick Bay for two turns. It could have been worse!
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWqbLVvhQ_0elPX0pqDNkGA34Iz8IPNLzsVmpb2EBJM0axr5XMZGgBn5HYAkvmNPgCEemmiuZTW1aZV8KSQIIgZyriwiTWwA7ltY6M6gFg-CBt0EMPz94rs512HGI_e997gtsQFrg6-OFn9Sl1Q27y9QJiKr9yhQPBUkwLGBRWp_bzGKnLx3AyP2rL3v-M/s2048/Game%206%204.jpg)
After the game, we got the Hazard Pay but not the payout for completing the mission, as the game ended before we were able to get anyone off the opposing table edge. There were a couple of Stim Packs looted as well. We had the opportunity to trade a Blade for a Handgun, and the local food was agreeing well for Uezkfu, reducing Sick Bay time by one turn.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiP02szCJ7sjdnhTS5z-drbvL_lYYi4siWnHYI_dliqMm3pq3qo_vWztTq9DmUWpYzK0pHcg-Y3B-orElKHqPkW817wt-WxMzYTxKccAtz91AVo-U3Y8mXRYeh9CDNtt93YfstPdy2zQheNc_w8Ai0ILWZoUyX6eeWGkHIZL10XHVhfTdSCpjgqLfvKUzgE/s2048/Game%206%205.jpg)
And this leaves me in a bit of a conundrum. My original campaign goal was to get the ship paid off. I've got 4 credits left to pay on it, and 30 credits in the stash. Do I finish this campaign and start a new one? Do I draw this one out for several more turns? I must ponder for a while.

Nice to see the old Grenadier Traveller mini's again but a real shame no-one has done a more modern version (I know there were a few TNE figures produced but they were scarce).

Really ‘dog’ your Digga Boys :P Nice paint jobs and converting there.
Latest games looking great as ever. Your final game needs to be a banger after all this effort!
You make the Cannon Fodder look really solid as a hobby buy - the painting and posing a really nice. I wasn’t impressed by the official pictures at all by comparison! Well done mate.

Well, I've thought about my conundrum about ending the campaign, and consulted The One True Rulebook for guidance. As it turns out, "pay off the ship" isn't one of the options to complete a campaign. I may have been thinking of an earlier edition or an entirely different game. But upon reflection, I am going with the "Complete 20 Campaign Turns" condition to end this particular campaign.

OK, so I played out Turn 7 of my Five Parsecs From Home campaign. After our success for Tukera Lines last turn, we were able to get another courier delivery assignment, this time from the Subsector Duke himself. But first, a recap of time spent in the vicinity of the Starport: Asvyaske spent some time Training, O and Aim repaired the damaged weapons, and Iruurlaa and Uekzfu both found Patrons. Uezkfu had also used our last Med-patch to get back on her paws. Another Rumor was found, which resolved into a Quest. A lot is going on all at once!
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhUKjFxEZxncb8W5mZ3Ylp8KTCtVN05GAUUajN_xC7_IvH03yyF_TIB4FEMcIhlzsQQUaz8Qr_4VlG5wynDOjNtnYPFYx6mgDbE4vkOVPaAYle13bFCbfPqo3Nmy89CC4mbHOljJgK9KT9utvO42eaSWTtvpsAp1ds_qaMYPzHdSRygny28F5vnXkk890S/s2048/Game%207%202.jpg)
One thing we have learned on this overgrown pink world of Windsor is that any time something is being delivered, someone else wants to take it. This time was no different, and a posse of Tech-gangers decided this delivery was for them. There were six of them, one a leader and one with a shell gun. The rest were armed with infantry lasers, and they were approaching the delivery point from the opposite direction from Our Heroes.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBsXoAVZki9U52VdagFJY6w1J45JnRrBFyYUZ136EOD2d4jVPshh_MTl1mlo_c68w1Az-8BL6QKiCTCnqqOSUcP3HR-nL7TxWuStr6YJ87e2wHls4NhocB6ISXhsAQHdNUjPVHQ-qxU-1NpH93rc_FMBMo8ceLv7MRiLAsqLD73iau6qDLMxoG_Pbsd4XR/s2048/Game%207%201.jpg)
The delivery point was the main entrance door of a frontier homestead. The general area was overgrown with the damnable pink fluff that seems to cover the entire world. There was an airborne jellypink drifting through the area, and the homesteader had his car parked out in front of his dwelling.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinp2enCg0Cz9pR8GtpxyRygPePn3fm3_kZia8NuriiyhSEC2jyIPa_wHhT3eUaObyOk8oHVw47me54RksyGFdzMhDQd9YhYQvCJiOy4br2slCQx8UDz6cTeEfdDrXAsE-t36MkAM8pZP-niQFPfYLYEVDWaaNeXEg-G3hyLncj0fnXFQ43VdRiA_QpcYSU/s2048/Game%207%203.jpg)
So, to begin with, Aim moved into cover and had a clear shot at one of the tech-gangers and promptly dropped her with a well-placed shot from his hunting rifle. The Gangers then advanced into cover, and returned fire on the entire Crew, but without any effect. As the rest of the Crew moved forward, one of the Gangers decided to run away. This would not be the last time this happened.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLOVGrN9VmzzymgDQsDSxnlg_JqrIJm-cSbiyPWX6qSR2trxbsCLlwfN0o_p_Qy9pkxAKRt6srY9-D73IXIf6z2SMXC-4FcrNL-_4BU9wlDhhHrGJn9tExX2WPQk-IVVQJfNe8Al_fxWpw7EAzAtHfaggrWQIo0zfXoZrXZE55I1Pp3DkJ6BUwrU9NpIrr/s960/Game%207%204.jpg)
After that, Aim took a good shot at the Ganger with the shell gun, but only caused a Stun result. O made the Delivery. Victory secured! The Gangers returned fire without effect. Asvyaske moved forward and dropped the Tech-ganger leader with a single shot from his Hand Cannon. Iruurla, Khirki, and Uezkfu were all unsuccessful in their return fire.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgop1T03tbXw0h5J4XLSPMp1CrCFO0xiGHr6tQRh2nJh1g22_UiFtFJrsERTua17eW6984hlJu3uDD5zud4RWS2YQubNDOUq-dq97TJDSdSNCZQWMVNl0AWumCC_ipVGBlcjX5Ybn7NaFVMv4pjXMLrubCFZZMIBtfUOJtza44V48wH-y9l0Mf-QvoHSXpV/s2048/Game%207%205.jpg)
Next, the remaining Tech-gangers opened fire on Our Heroes, and Asvyaske took a hit! Not down, but a bit stunned. Irrurlaa finally found his mark and dropped a Ganger, Aim missed his shot at the Ganger with the Shell gun, and both Khirki and Uezkfu missed their shots. However, the hail of fire was enough to convince another Ganger to leave the skirmish.
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGhvrdSX2Wf-H04c-oC2wvO_-JqltVaOylfPIFOxyIACVh1gJJVkyCAqiVGX0rCSm3gKYFt-ulS8ZVyT81a34ClNPnT3BuzOkI6W9Nql-3c6RQ-JYIBgG9NS33IUtzwSgA7kOa7_Ekun_6poKWHFaUp_3M2v7Z_v8YqrmZ1qkh3iE8BWDcwW3nzG1Dn3pF/s2048/Game%207%206.jpg)
Following on, Aim took a shot at the Shell gunner and managed to Stun her. She shakily returned fire without effect. Uezkfu managed to get into the Shiny Bits, and everyone else shot at the remaining Ganger without further effect
(https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheYhZIpmATDDvblP3eZ-b4kvJe3BJWSXfc7kekg-nDVpjyR4jXQ0-LY1dlERlDtIBGcVJ-50EeeO7z7GwTJzHyTeqc1E996wTXUVs0PJqDizbNY3YNyRv65wqDF8BQjMbzZYnyED57VNmYo9Ex_-DIlK-yFrUAYDpJg_JIsfV_QHQYeEwCzpKPTIGnNDu8/s2048/Game%207%207.jpg)
Finally, Asvyaske took a shot at the last Ganger and felled her with his Hand Cannon. That was the end of the skirmish, and we had Held the Field!

Afterwards, we recovered that Shell Gun. It would come in handy! Upon returning to the Starport, we were paid our 3 credits of danger pay and an additional 4 credits for completing the job. Our ship was paid off, and our coffers were growing. Now, about that Quest...

Congratulations on the group's success! It is a good feeling to have the ship paid off and not have to worry about that. :)

Thank you! I'm not sure what we'll use all the extra credits for...

Samuel Clemens would tell you to do as he did - spend it on booze and loose women, the rest can be wasted! lol

^^ lol lol
Or upgrades on the ship? New courses for new skills for the characters?

Hookers 'n blow or ship upgrades and training? Hmmm...

Could be both things ??? lol

Ooh - don't do ship upgrades whilst 'under the influence' or you'll end up exactly like your namesake! lol

OK, so I played my eighth campaign game of Five Parsecs From Home. It was a short, bloody affair with quite a lot of payoff for Our Heroes. It started simply enough, with Asvyaske, O, and Iruurlaa all doing some Training while Aim found and passed up on a good bargain and Uezkfu definitely Does Not have any gambling problem. Khirki had a nice chat with some locals. And then it happened: all those rumors resolved into a Quest! Now we were getting somewhere! So, absinthe in hand, Our Heroes went merrily off to their fate.

They had to get a crate from the back of a truck parked out in the wastes. This seemed easy enough, except that our old friends from Tukera Lines had sent some drug-addled security forces along with a Nomad Scout to stop us. Weren't we on the same side? Or had something changed? In any case, the light was fading fast and we did not know how long we had to get the crate and get out of the area. And there seemed to be another, similar crate nearby. We'll grab that too if we have the chance!

First turn, O made a beeline for the truck. The Tukera goons and their friend moved either close to cover, or in some cases fully into it. The rest of Our Heroes moved forward, Aim dashing into cover and Iruurlaa testing out the new Shell Gun. Hit! Score! A dead goon!

The second turn was bloody for both sides. Uezkfu killed a goon, Aim killed the Nomad Scout, and then the Tukera team managed to take out Khirki and Uezkfu. O grabbed the crate while Iruurlaa moved closer and took another shot with the Shell Gun, killing another Tukera goon. There was only the Tukera lieutenant left facing Our Heroes, but she held her ground.

On the third turn, Aim moved out of cover and took a shot at the Tukera leader, dropping her dead. O made it to the other crate (scoring another Quest rumor) and with that, the skirmish was over.

After the game, I rolled well for the survival of Uezkfu and Khirki; Uezkfu got School Of Hard Knocks, landing us another Story point, and Khirki was just knocked out. We gained another Quest rumor, got 6 credits out of the whole shebang, and were able to loot a plasma rifle from a Tukera goon. In both the Campaign Events and Character Events, Quest Rumors were scored. This totalled FOUR Quest Rumors from one game. Where will our next Quest mission take us?

Nice battle report! Glad to hear the two crew are okay. I was fortunate in my games, too, in none of my crew were knocked out of action for any length of time.

We lost Aaur a few games back, so it hasn't been all roses for us. This mission was pitifully easy and having two guys go down was just bad luck lol!
