I was also going to suggest that cutting up OOP BFG ships to stick into your hulk seems a bit of a pity!
Why not make a mould with some Oyumaru, and press-mould ship parts with Milliput? They might not be perfect, but they'll certainly be good enough for wrecks and for hulks. The Oyumaru is re-usable too. :)

Oyumaru? It sounds japanese but I shall have to have a look for it as that sounds like a great idea. I do have a few spare broken ships that have been donated to me but to get a few quick casts is never a bad thing :D Thanks.

Ive just finished the basic paint scheme for the space hulk and also prepared some asteroids too so will paint them up tomorrow night and hopefully post pics on friday or saturday :) Im really quite happy with them both so far...

Also on the subject of oyumaru, Ive also been told silicone for plumbing works well too, so as my friend is a plumber up here, Im gonna go right a head and give it a go, even as far as making a tutorial on my blog I think.

Which reminds me, here is a sneak peek of the next blog and also the link direct to it. It covers the space hulks progress and also a new fleet that I recently aquired from these very halls, the sorylian collective fleet....

Second the oyomaru - I used it for wall plaques in the Workbench board. Great stuff, had to order from Japan but came through quickly.

Nice painting (and all photos on your blog). The Sorylian Collective have nice designs (my choice if the game would've picked up in my group).

I must admit they are great looking ships. I feel a bit bad that I will be bastardising some into Adeptus Mechanicus ships, but only by changing the prow into something more skull/mechanical looking. The rest are becoming luxury liners and freighters as described and so minimal reworking on them, although it wont change them too much, it will be enough to add a few extra details to them.
Ive actually finished four of them now and photos will be up tomorrow :D

The Wolf of Centralia, a small conversion but effective :)

Nice colour choices and small (but effective) conversion. Also - out of curiousity - is there any wargaming in Shetland?

Thanks for compliment, it was nerve racking for the conversion though haha :)
There is some in Lerwick,  two clubs I think on a Thursday and a Sunday. They seem to do all sorts too, from Dnd to wing and 40k.
