Battlefleet gothic WIP pictures.
« on: January 02, 2017, 07:50:36 PM »
Howdy everyone,

As some will know I am working on one of each fleet for Battle-fleet Gothic, Ive acquired miniatures from sellers here and some spares to scratch build my own from multiple people, so a HUGE thank you to those involved  :D
Which is what will be displayed here today.
Now I'm not sure how to insert my images from my gallery here on the forum to a thread so i shall link them here until i figure it out haha.

First up is a group shot of the ships I have finished so far of the Tyranid fleet. Coming on well and I've enjoyed them too. Some inspiration has been used from every corner of the internet and so some may recognise bits and pieces haha :)

Im also listening to a lot of pianola music like this too... catchy and very nice to watch the piano 'play itself' too....  lol

Here is a preview of what is to come, its a selection of miniatures that are on the painting desk at the moment. A new way that I am trying out for getting my smaller projects finished.

Well here is my latest update to the blog, http://let-the-galaxy-burn-again.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/battlefleet-gothic-tyranid-fleet-and.html
It is an update on the Tyranid and Battlefleet Gothic projects, enjoy :)

I'm also starting a youtube channel here too, they are both linked together and will have a bit more info in the videos than the blog but the blog will have the addition of images of the projects until I can sort out putting images in the videos too.
The video link is to my first video but i am uploading one as I type so number 2 should be up soon.

Nice work Matt - good to see you back at it.

I'd push on to see how to link images from your blog to here and get the videos nestled in the blog too. The fleets are looking great, nice kit-bashing.

Video is a nice new addition too - you're voice isn't annoying and you've scrubbed up well (:P) so I'd recommending sticking with it if it helps getting your ideas down on paper/on video as it were.

Thanks, it's great to be back too :D

I'm thinking of just using photo bucket to link them here again, plain and easy plus I know how to use it already haha.

As for the video side, I'm hoping to get a new editor from a friend of mine as he has done it for a while,  hopefully my 7 year old laptop can handle it and if not I may need to treat myself haha.

It certainly helps and I'm much more enthusiastic about it now so hopefully that will gather momentum.

Ok guys here is an update.
Now here is a preview picture, again photobucket sucks....
Now HOPEFULLY you will be tempted to have a look and feel free to comment and give me feedback.

Also at the moment, I've been planning for the Necron fleet as I have many ideas, I just need to treat myself to some new kits to build up my spares for them. I have 3 planned purchases and all will be both the ACTUAL kit use for me and also the fleet use too, which is great for me haha lol

Some nice kit-bashing there. The Ork ships are very characterful.

Good morning everyone, Well a quick update on my projects.

Firstly the scratchbuilding of an ork space hulk. Now this scares the crap out of me, Ive got all the parts on to it that I want except 3 or 4 broken ships sticking out like you normally see. I look at it and I think "it looks horrible" mainly because it is all different colours and just a load of bits, so will basecoat it soon and hopefully solve that issue. Now I cant add the other ships until im back in Yorkshire but it will be ready for them atleast haha.

Secondly, Ive had a bit of a paint of some of my Ork small escort type ships. So far I have finished three, ignore the bases as not done those yet, but i have the basic colours done and details started which will be finished today, a day off so im making it a painting and walking day.

Lastly, Ive also added 4 more sword frigates to my imperial fleet, these will be stripped when home and repainted in my fleets colours and added to the roster. Which at some point I shall write all and do the usual fluffy bits that I like to write.

Parting thoughts, the song deja vu by Initial D is quite catchy and reminds me of the old style video games.....
and also more info on the blog of non BFG projects...For blog posts with more info here.....

Hi - for the space hulk if you're after bits that resemble ship hulls, take a look at the pound stores for safety razors. Some of the handles have interesting patterns on them.

Now then, thats one ive not heard of before, i shall certainly have a look. I remember ones I had in italy having some nice handled ones come to think of it, I may have to get my friend to send me some over, without the blades obviously haha...
Thanks for the idea.

I shall be updating soon, I just received some chaos cruisers on sprues and plan not only to use them as imperial ships but also convert them too haha.

I was also going to suggest that cutting up OOP BFG ships to stick into your hulk seems a bit of a pity!
Why not make a mould with some Oyumaru, and press-mould ship parts with Milliput? They might not be perfect, but they'll certainly be good enough for wrecks and for hulks. The Oyumaru is re-usable too. :)
