Lots of 20mm plastics, nice too.

The Afrika Korps looks really good, didn't notice they were 1:72 at first, the bit of scenery really completes it. The adventurers are nice and I like the background, but the paintjobs are a bit flat.

I also voted for the 20mm plastics. The setting looks more convincing than the map (the map is a bit too busy IMO) and the first one has better painting and the total look is very cool.

The diorama is a really nice touch. Looks very real and to think they aren`t even metal figures!! Great job. The other figures look fine, but the map really makes them look washed out...hard to tell!!

The map background was an experiment - but not a wholly successful one, as it confused the autofocus of the camera... I'd have reshot, except the sun vanished behind a big dark layer of clouds and stole all my light!

Sharpening & fiddling in the computer has also washed the whole photo out, as someone upthread noticed. Ah well, on to the next round!

Thanks guys :)

@wirelizard: maybe a less detailed map would do the trick. This one confusses the autofocus too much indeed, but a 'cleaner' one might not have that problem. I really like the idea! And maybe you could include a dotted line on the map to indicate the path of travel like you see in some adventure movies. That would add something extra to the story of the picture.
