Does someone know the names of these two GW minis?
« on: 18 January 2018, 04:51:28 PM »
There are two guys from back in the Mordheim days.

One has a ponytail and a rapier.  He is lunging forward in an (roughly) Olympic fencing position.  The other is big guy with a hammer.

They are almost like a Mordheim version of Asterix and Obelix (at least in my eyes.)

Does anyone know their names?

Thanks!

Was it my Asterix and Obelix comparison that did it?   ;)

Probably the incessantly leafing through GW catalogues, which burns the images of all those minis in one's memory, never to be removed... lol I know; I've done the same back when, and I still have all those ranges virtually completely memorized  :D

Comsquare beat me to it, although admittedly, I would have only been able to give you their first names... ;)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Yes, it was ;)

Honestly, Iplayed a LOT of Mordheim games back in those days, so it was not that difficult.
Ulli and Marquand had some comic strips as well, so even more recognizable :)

I always envisioned them as the GW equivalents Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser myself actually...  :)

Why did Mordheim go out of style?  Was it unsuccessful after some time?

I just discovered it a year or two ago.  I love the characters and the modelling options of making a city.

I've tried kitbashing some characters from the Empire militia and swordsmen.  They turn out alright but they are less unique than the Mordheim ones.
