Scenario Names
« on: April 07, 2009, 12:17:16 AM »
I was wondering if anyone could help me name a few colonial scenarios.  My imagination has temporarily run dry.  Please don't post your new million dollar movie title, but if you have a few ideas you would like to share with me, I'd love it!

All the action takes place in mythical Tangarana in East Africa, 1878-1913.  Tangarana is considered to be an independent country being encroached upon by British East Africa to the south and a strong Ethiopia to the north.  Also, as background flavour,  the Russians have  overthrown the Ottomans in the Russo-Turkish War leaving Palestine garrisoned by Russian troops, some of whom have gone Bolshevik. Complicated, but it sets the stage for a lot of alternate-history action.  Our first game was called "Red Guards of Gaza" depicting a battle between Red and White forces.

The first scenario I need a title for is simply a battle in which the Tangaranan forces must escort native bearers to deliver provisions to a native village.  The British do not wish those provisions to arrive...

The other scenario  will be an Arab attack against either Russian or Turkish forces in Arabia, reminiscent of Lawrence of Arabia.  Again, any help would be appreciated.  Note that this game is pulp-style set in colonial Africa/Arabia.  Thank you!

Hey thanks!  I was totally coming up with nothing and I got some real good ideas from you guys (hmm..."Tangarana Trail Troubles").  It was a big help.  One of our play group has just informed me that his Germans are called Das Ost Reich Korp...yep, D.O.R.K.  Hmm..."The Man From D.O.R.K", "Revenge of the D.O.R.K.s".  I think I'm set for a long while.  Thanks again! ;)

The Tangarana Tango! Most excellent!  I am totally using that one.  When I was a lad we played Avalon Hill's Squad Leader and somehow it has gotten into my head that, as in Squad leader, the scenario name needs to be snappy, descriptive, and witty if possible.  Thanks again for the great ideas!  I will try to upload some pictures eventually, but I need to learn some things first.
