Plastic Warjacks in Grind game set
« on: 05 July 2009, 02:08:48 PM »
Hi all,
I have no idea what the price will be, and we all know that we're partial to metal, but this could prove an interesting source of warjacks: http://privateerpress.com/grind

I don't know if it is tru or not, but I heard someone say the jacks might not be the same size as the current jacks. They may be smaller.

They considered making them smaller but it "just didn't sit right" according to the PP reply to that question on their forums. The Jacks in the box are the same scale as the Warmachine ones. They're fairly simple models though, they're designed to go together without glue and to have interchangable arms.

I'm not convinced they'll be suitable replacement figures for the Warmachine ones in general. Particularly as it's pretty much a given that the heavy jacks will be made in plastic anyway over the next year or so.

What they may be useful for though (aside from playing Grind) is making Merc Warjacks, as Merc jacks are usually based on old, outdated chassis. Another possible use is for making labour/steamjacks for scenery pieces or as part of a supply train etc.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Obvious point here, but they'll also be useful for any other steam-pink miniature or role-play games. Can't wait to get my hands on a box!

Yeah, Merc jacks and also Labor jacks as well if your playing Iron Kingdoms.

Looks cool, and depending on the price, it could be a relatively inexpensive way of picking up 10 jacks for Warmachine, or for some VSF. Looking forward to October!
