Palaeo Diet: Eat Or Be Eaten Markers
« on: 16 September 2022, 09:28:15 AM »
Palaeo Diet requires markers for fires set by hunters, here are mine, 10mm fire elementals from Pendraken and Magister Militum.

Wind direction is also important, for the spread of fires and the carrying of smells, so here too is my wind direction marker, an elderly Ral Partha air elemental.

Thank you. It seemed more appropriate to prehistory than a weathercock! The pointing finger is copied from a prehistoric hand silhouette.

Nice work. I have been looking at the 10mm fire elements for fire markers myself. I really like the wind direction marker though!

Thanks, gents. Now trying to come up with a clever idea for measuring sticks, that aren't simply sticks!

Nice use of those Pendraken fire elementals, I have them to use for explosions but this works, too.

On the hand print, maybe the outer edges should be a reddish color?  Or did you find an actual blue hand print as inspiration?

As for the measuring sticks, why not sticks?  Very in period!  :D

No blue hand print found, I went for something sky-ish, intending a 'hand of god(s)' thing', but I think a red ochre outline is a good idea, thanks.

As for measuring, I have found some nice knobbly sticks, so that's the way I'm going.

These are my Palaeo Diet measuring sticks, found in a nearby park and carved to shape.

I use the large straight green stems from plastic flowers found at craft stores. Cut in suitable lengths and mark at 1” intervals with a sharpie.
