I don't usually do vehicles and I can honestly say, this is the first plane I've painted in ... what, 35 years or so? It takes a different skillset from doing miniatures and I'm very uncertain doing the big stuff. Still, my brother bought me some of the Flory Models clay washes for panel lines for my birthday and I thought I'd give them a go.
Also, this is a Revell kit of a MkIIB without the Vokes filter (for desert use) and I wanted to convert the plane to a MkIID tank killer with dirty great 40mm cannons, in North Africa. The cannons were very kindly donated by Just John and the filter I ended up making from scratch by sanding down plasticard until it looked about right - it doesn't hold up to close scrutiny but it's close enough for government work. The top of the plane has had the dark mud clay wash and the underside the sand wash. I still have a MkIIC kit with the twin 20mms cannons which I may do some time. Hope you like it.
