Welcome to the Bazaar of the Incomplete.
A few of my units do get completed but many get partly painted only for me to get distracted and partly paint another few figures.  True to form, I decided to finish some of my Sindar elves.  Once they were 90% finished I thought it might be good to get some paint on some other figures.  Some of these poor souls have been partially painted for over a year (in fact, some were started during the first Covid lock down in March 2020).  Over the next week I might even do a Battle of the Incomplete - Orcs and Elves caught in that twilight world between bare metal/plastic and fully painted and based figures.
However, I am quite proud of how much I have done over the last week, even if not finished and though I would post my progress so far.
And what could be better to go with incomplete miniatures other than incomplete terrain.
Sindar at the back.
Noldor archers to the right.
Heavy and light cavalry (one close up of a test colour scheme - chanelling the look of 5e Hussards from my Napoleonic days).
Noldor nobility at the front and a couple of Edain.
Incomplete pine trees (they are pining for completion) and rocky hill.
Enjoy the myriad of incomplete mediocrity.  Hopefully posting this will keep me at the painting for a while.

I recognise this desire to start another project rather than to get an in flight one finished.

I too have many part started units and additional pieces that tend to languish for too long.

I do like the look of your elves though, far from mediocre!
