I've seen (AK REAL Colours of WWII) that Australian Khaki Green #3 was lighter and greener than Standard UK Khaki Green #3. Has anyone seen any colour samples or other references to this elusive shade? I'm looking for a good paint colour for Australian helmets and support weapons mainly. Maybe some trucks and carriers as well. Thanks!
PS - I meant to say as used by A.I.F. in Malaya/Singapore.

Personally speaking I use whatever looks about right. Colours varied from factory production, weathering and lighting change depth and tone and then there's the scale effect.

Obregado Carlos! I have seen those in my research. Actually the colour photo of the Australian truck was especially helpful.

I did buy AK Australian Tan and Australian Cammo Green. I think mixing a little Australian Green with the Khaki Green #3 will work ok.

By the by if it’s the AK set I’m thinking of those are likely post-war colours, the green being Vietnam era and beyond Olive drab lustreless. That said, whatever looks right.

No it's the book they did a few years ago. It has some really good info in it, but not much on Australians or anybody else in Malaya/Singapore 41'. I bought some individual AK 3rd generation AFV paints.

What I tried here was AK 3RD Gen Khaki Green no. 3 base. Citadel Antholian Cammoshade wash. Khaki Green no. 3 again around the rim and top of the helmet. Then final highlight of basically 50/50 mix of Khaki Green no. 3, and AK11348 Australian Cammouflage Green.
