here is the reason I am taking interest in that particular conflict:

Is this film available to purchase and does it have option of English subtitles, any other good films dealing with this conflict?

this is a romanian movie from the socialist era, which also has TV serial version which is much longer and about the portrayal of the main characters which are only briefly sketched in the theatrical version
I searched a lot for it because I loved it in my childhood

there has been a VHS edition (sold out) in the 90's but due to quarrels concerning the publication rights, a DVD version is not to be expected very soon (I got mine through dark channels from computer wizards)
I don't know any version with subtitles, but it would hardly be necessary because most of the dialogues are military talk, and with a little bit of knowledge about the conflict, you will be able to follow

however, the movie is very biased towards the romanian participation, and the russians are shown only in HQ scenes in very incapable performance or as wounded retreating soldiers
apart from that, the movie is quite realistic and historically accurate and has a general anti-war undertone

the only other movie I know is the russian one recently made from the detective series, but the conflict is shown rather summarily
