Just finished the free French infantry sprue that was in the latest Wargames Illustrated. Did this with Contrast paints, so it didn't take long. I quite like them and I'm going to get some more, I've heard a few Napoleonic fans complaining about their accuracy, don't care

Very nice brush control! I find it is tough with contrast paints on such small areas.
But they are certainly perfectly suited to 15mm, and massed ranks of minis!

They’ve come out great.

I quite like contrast paints for 10mm figures - which are a little smaller than these - at least in height.

These figures do look good as a unit, but I suppose we are too used other frontage of wargames units, as these look far too long. Even though the length is a fraction of what it would have been.

Thanks for the kind comments. I like the way contrast paints work at this scale, I couldn't get on with them for anything other than ancients at larger scales. I know what you mean about the size of units, it's going to take a big table to do it justice.

Nicely done, the contrast paint is working well. Thre is a lot of detail on these figures, so it seems important to find a way to cut through that and paint by the unit, rather than the figure. For my table, I am planning to use just two bases when a unit is in line and three when in column.

Cheers, they didn't come with bases so I just made my own, 60 x 20mm plasticard. I have seen the proper ones and they look good.

Thanks. I think I might do something similar in my shed with it's normal size table, but one of our group has a garage that can do 18' x 6' that will look epic!
