Defence of Osgiliath
« on: July 01, 2024, 11:35:45 PM »
A large game of Lord of the Rings with Farimir, Damrod, 24 Rangers of Gondor, Beregond and 24 Warriors of Minis Tirith Holding back the horde of Mordor, Lead by Gothmog, Shagrat, Gorbag, Infinite Orcs, and from turn 10, a Ringwraith on a Fellbeast, 2 Trolls and 48 Goblins, over 15 turns!

When each Evil company (24 figs) took 12 kills, it was forced back 6 inches, but the 12 killed would be placed back in the landing crafts and joined the fray as reinforcements.
Neither side took any Morale as Gondor were fighting for their lives and the above was fine for the Evil player.
If Good can hold for 15 turns, reinforcements arrive as another 24 Gondor Warriors and knights and Gandalf save the day.
If Farimir died, all was lost as the defenders panicked of the news and the game would be over.

The Horde make ground on their right, and in the center

But are held with aimed archery on the left

Gondor are slowly getting pushed back

The Gondor center holds, for now

Defence on the left, taking casualties and starting to fracture

The first of the Trolls and a horde of Goblins storm across the repaired bridge

The arrival of the Nazgul and the beast received a wound from Archery!

The Horde's way is now open on their right

The Fellbeast is slain by archery, the Nazgul is now on foot

Goblins and Trolls swarm into the town

Fighting is becoming intense

Turn 12 saw Farimir get over run and was slain!

Captain Farimir has fallen Osgiliath is lost, run for your lives!

If it isn't enjoyable, it isn't gaming!

Great looking game. I suspect Faramir's father will not miss him...

Wow!  :-* Awesome looking game. So no rule for Gondor to call in an (eagle) air strike when things started to not go their way?  lol
