By Fire and Sword II Released?
« on: 29 December 2024, 08:37:12 AM »
My question is simple, has By Fire and Sword II been published as of yet?

Or the miniatures released?

Thanks :)

Kind of...

The last campaign update post was on October 22, claiming that the last pledges were being shipped (excluding the art book):

The posts there have been a bit infrequent and occasionally mentioning quite severe obstacles, see for example:

I received my Kickstarter stuff in December. That one had some extra factors, though, so we had to exchange a few emails first. There were quite many different units in there, some with English cards.

They announced receiving English books already in June. I have one set of those right here so they definitely do exist in some quantities.

However, their own store only seems to list the Polish books and a small selection of boxes, possibly with Polish cards too.

That's all I can tell for now. In short, looks like the pledges have been largely delivered and they should be able to produce more for retail, but that part is still heavily underway. AFAIK they were in Crisis in September, and I hope they'll be in Tactica too with some fresh stock. :)

We hope to have first wave of 2nd Edition in retail in Wargamer UK by the end of January. On 13th December there was Polish premiere :) with first wave consisting of starter for 2 players, rulebooks, some sets for Swedes, Ottomans and Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. So we would expect same sets to be available in English.

Kadrinazi, that's great news. I holidayed in Poland during October and that re-kindled my interest in 17th century Eastern Europe.  I visited a gaming shop in Poznan and they told me the game would hopefully be released by Christmas, and I was just about to contact them when I saw this post.  I'll wait and see that Wargamer UK manages to get hold of. In the meantime better re-read my Helion books on the Wars of Charles X.

Helion's books are good 'background' for 'The Deluge' war, with plenty ideas for wargaming scenarios and even campaigns. I should know, I wrote one of them ;)

I'm quite familiar with the Helion catalogue. Which one did you write?

Atheling, if "Kadrinazi" is who I think he is, he wrote "Against the Deluge".  I had a very useful exchange with him about the period a few years ago but I didn't proceed with my project as the supply of "By Fire and Sword" figures rather dried up. I looked at using either 10mm or 6mm but then heard that a v2 of the ruleset plus new figures was on the stocks so held off.....until now!

Indeed, I'm Michał Paradowski and I wrote 'Against the Deluge' (and few other books in the series). Next year we will publish 'Confrontation of Kings, 1656. The Three-Day Battle of Warsaw in the Swedish Deluge, 1655-1660', that I co-wrote with Michael Fredholm von Essen.
