Battle of Wakefield 1460 using Midgard Heroic Battles
« on: 20 December 2024, 04:07:38 PM »
Last weekend, I met up with Tom and Chris to do a refight of Wakefield.  We opted for a snowy mat for a bit of seasonal flavour, although the chroniclers don't mention snow, and followed Eric the Shed's scenario ideas while adapting the game for Midgard Heroic Battles.

Figures are mostly 28mm Foundry, Perry and Athena Miniatures from our combined collections.  You can read a full battle report with OOBs and further pictures on the Mogsymakes site: https://mogsymakes.net/wars-of-the-roses-wakefield-1460-using-midgard-heroic-battles/

It was a fun game even though the Yorkists didn't do too well - perhaps not surprisingly!

Awesome looking game.  Any extra rules for bows passing through the bills?

There is a Trait (a Midgard type of special rule) called Replacements that allows a unit to swap places with another directly behind it instead of taking any other actions. That's what we used.

That's a great looking game. Good to see Midgard is so adaptable as well.
