I'm looking to paint a few units up for the Pendraken painting competition. I'm starting with the Massachusetts' continentals using British infantry, (finally getting to them, Fred!). Between the turnbacks on the back there appears to be either a powder horn or maybe a sheathed bayonet. Anyone know for sure?

When I clicked into this, I did wonder if it was that set of figures! I’ve not done anything with the Poles I received in return, so you are ahead of me.

I suspect its the end of a scabbard, either bayonet or short sword. More from what other figures tend to have, rather than working out what this shape is.

I think it might be a hachet, axe, tomahawk call it what you will. I have some in 15mm and they have one.

Looks like a powder horn, but such are usually worn on the side or the front and higher up. Difficult to prime the pan from a horn hung below one's butt.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

I was looking in the wrong place. Its not the scabbard of a hanger is it?

I think it is, or at least that's what I'm calling it after reading all the replies here and elsewhere. Hoping to post pictures of these and a cavalry unit by the end of the month.
