Mausoleum - this is actually a 28mm piece from a Dungeons and Laser fantasy accessories kickstarter. I'm not sure what is is meant to be and I thought it scaled well with 6mm buildings so I added a wooden door out of green stuff.

More quite nice buildings.  I think such nice buildings will really add to the overall effect of your games.  And good job on the mausoleum, always good to see with a different perspective beyond intended use.

Your houses and figurines are really well painted. I don't know if I could paint these figurines as well, because I saw them down, even with a magnifying glass.

A while ago I played a game of SDS (called Foraging Mission) as a warm up and to help relearn the rules. The rules were great but the game got a little bogged down and become a static firefight, so I will have to think about how to avoid this in future games (maybe less terrain).

Static firefights are what 90% of skirmishing was all about.

Aethelfreada was framed, that is more or less what occurred to me, too. As soon as firepower exceeds the capacity to absorb damage while remaining effective the tactically sensible thing to do is take cover and shoot (and for skirmish scale actions the firepower vs ineffectiveness threshold is very low - one hit with a bullet is likely to render a soldier ineffective… despite how Hollywood depicts combat).

Some of the scenarios are a bit more fluid like escorting a wagon across the table so I will look at those. In this game there was really no reason to leave cover as the ranges was close enough to be effective.
