Last ducosim (Dutch gaming con) a friend and I played the minicampaign Art of War for Ambush Alley. It was great to play three linked scenarios of AA, giving each one addition depth. I had a great day and can recommend the minicampaigns to everyone.
In the first scenario the regulars opened up on the convoy and quickly wiped out the escorting gunmen. But all the noise drew additional forces to the scene. Fighting was heavy and soon the regulars were taking casualties. The gunmen managed to clear their left flank of regulars, but had no time left to push the remaining regulars away from the artifact. Regulars won with 20 - 5, but had taken 1 KIA and 4 WIA.

But to no avail, after a few seconds no gunmen are left standing.
Reinforcements arrive.
And make a push on the left flank.
They push to regulars back, but it's to little to late.
After the momentum of the reinforcements was lost the gunmen retreated. The regulars used their time wisely and set up a perimeter. They reformed into two larger squads and deployed on both sides of their objective. It wouldn't be soon before the gunmen would be back... and they weren't disappointed. Arousing the local populace the gunmen made a second attempt to recapture the artifact. In the first turn they caused a massive amount of casualties on the regulars, but the cavalry made an appearance (I had jsut joked to Real that he really deserved to draw the tank-reinforcement card after the beating my gunmen had given him, he rolled a 1 for his reaction and drew... a tank! Rather giving his ASLAV it's first oppotunity to deploy on the battlefield he opted to use it instead). The gunmen had a tough team opposing the ASLAV but in the end it got hit two times by an RPG and was reduced to a burning wreck. The insurgents really took it to the regulars, defeating them with 13 -3 and causing 5 KIA and 2 WIA.

And then unto the third game. Unfortunately for Real the regulars bad luck would keep up. As soon as they advanced they spotted a IED in a car on the road. One of their teams took up positions in a house only the be forced out of it when insurgent fire set it a light. Meanwhile the regulars position got surrounded. As their only choice was a humiliating defeat or a heroic advance to turn the tide the regulars bravely pushed on... and were taken down one by one. The POI fled the scene in his car. In the end the regulrs had suffered 7 KIA and 4 WIA. We decided that enough was enough and called it a day.
