Both figures are based upon illustrations/photographs found in the Osprey Man-at-Arms 305 (on the White Armies) though another reference that was sent to Lon came from the Osprey Essential History on the RCW. I think the figures surpass the illustrations in the Man-at-Arms book. The sculptor caught a certain smirky attitude in the faces which is brilliant. (The smirk is seen in a photograph of Schuss in the Essential History. Makhno looks rather crabby in the illustration in the Man-at-Arms and so the smirk is a nice improvement.) The Schuss figure is more elegant than the photograph of him. I am sure the coat worn was needed for warmth but it did give a StayPuft Marshmallow Man look to him. Thus the figure revives a certain dash that he seemed to have.
The emergence of these figures makes me very happy. I wanted to put together a Black RCW army and could not find a Makhno figure anywhere and thus the suggestion. With these out, it is time for me to figure out which Brigade Games and Copplestone figures to use to make an anarchist army.
