Well, I'm happy to report that the Very Civil War bug has bitten in the Twin Cities region of Minnesota! Thanks to some e-mails back and forth, several of my gaming pals and I are planning to simultaneously kick off both Very Civil Wars.
First, The Brigadista (so named for his fanatical support of the Spanish Republic in our SCW games) will be setting up our VBCW campaign; no doubt he's preparing his People's Forces to defend their collectives against the overbearing aristocratic snobs and Oppressors of The Workers as I type this, while I, as the long-suffering Lord of the Manor, simply can NOT abide that wretched colonial parvenu female as "Queen" and those smarmy, strutting jackbooted pillocks. Unfortunately, our friend Charlie has thrown in his lot with the Moseleyites, so there will have to be a stout thrashing administered...but who will deliver it?
I'm dashed if I'll let some Red bugger take away *my* traditional rights! The Brigadista told me he's afraid I may actually bring a riding crop and hit him with it; I told him I won't get quite *that* into character...
As for our VACW, well, we're setting up in the Twin Cities, and as history buffs, we've already got gangsters and cops, and I'm painting up WW1 US AEF as Constitutionalists, with Pulp Figures USMC as Nationalists (I bow to Skrapwelder for the idea, sir) and Brigade Games Harlem Hellfighters as a local defense force for a historic African-American neighborhood (they're Socialists). With the collection of vehicles we're putting together, hopefully we can have our first game in either Blighty or the Frozen North in a few weeks!
