without much knowldedge, my impression was that Glengarrys (is this the same as the field service cap??? btw) can very well stand in for the french one and vice versa ?

A Glengarry isn't the same thing as a field service cap, though they are of a similar shape.

Well, I meant similar shape
I know Glengarry is traditional scottish, with ribbons and ponpon etc
