I may be at Warfare, it will depend on whether I have enough reasons to go. I realise I don't buy stuff at shows anymore so the draw is to see people and chat. There weren't enough people to chat to at Colours (unlike Salute). Next time you see me come over and interrupt, no one will mind and you'll certainly add value to my show experience :)

I like meeting people but I have difficulty in introducing myself as Matakishi because (a) it isn't my name and (b) it sounds to me like I expect you to know who Matakishi is and smacks of vanity and self importance (both of which I have in abundance but not in connection to wargaming I hope).

Having perused the photos I find that there was indeed one stunning game and several good ones at Colours. Report to follow when I'm not knackered...

This is my second year in a row at Colours.  I visited on Saturday - I think the display games were better this year, but the Bring and Buy was terrible, a real rugby maul.  I went back at the end of the day and although I may have missed some bargains, I was able to browse in comfort.

I agree with other comments - the ground floor area was very cramped, I would suggest that they need to do this for financial reasons, but just maybe someone should realise that cramming in loads of stalls with little or no room, is not a good visitors experience!  And (in my opinion) it is the visitor who should come first. Happy visitors will spend more and then the traders will be happy!

The display and sales area on the first floor was a little better and apart from the area around the B and B, the top floor was OK.

I didn't spend that much - it always happens when I have money - I just can't find anything to spend it on!

My favourite display was the Napoleonic Bussao (I think that's right) game on the first floor - fantastic gaming board and well manned with real enthusiast, well done.

Plus points;
The catering was very good and there was lots to see.

Negative points;
The cramped ground floor and too many traders in a small area.

Overall - the show was OK - I think I prefer Warfare more (this is based on last year) and I prefer Partisan even more.  One final point, with  the one exception of parking I think I prefer Alumwell above Colours or Warfare, I find it more friendly.

I must say that there was a lack of 'Ooo' games this year, rather lack-luster. The only ones that spring to mind were Bussaco and Ork-a-nowa.

Not as many bargins as last year either, maybe this has something to do with the recession?

I did see one stand selling Copplestone packs for more then their web retail price and after paying £6 on the door that really doesn't appeal (£5 wouldn't be so bad as it turns out that that was what I had in my pocket)

I don't get to go to many shows as a punter any more and it was a bit of a let down  :(

cheers

James

Well this year i didnt think is great at all very dissapointing :?

went today and arrived at about 10:50 no que however the man asking us for our entrence fee was rude and there wasn't a thanks, or an enjoy yourself all he did was roll his eyes and sighed   "12 pound"    no please, no have a nice day and it felt as if my patner and i were an unwanted smell he wanted to fet rid of. BAD START.

it wasn't to cramped for my likings and in all fairness i thought the traders looked a little cramped but were ever so friendly none the less. especially the Empress guys Paul and Keith happy to answer all questions share lots of information and have got such great plans for the future of the company i cant wait to see whats to come from them. ;D

all in all i'd give it a 4 out of 10 just because the guy at the door was rude.

Warfare is definatly better! my mum and Girlfriend were let in for free really nice guys also the spending up hall was far more spacious.
