creating lurkers - how to allocate points?

I have been drawing up so new lurkers for my SA games but I have no idea how to assign points to them.

 is there a general guide line for assigning points?

I can't give away my secret recipe or everyone would be able to make my delicious chicken! 

That said I usually: Build monster (trying to fit it in the existing framework by comparing it with Lurkers with close points costs), Show And Tell (let everyone I know pick it apart for flaws), Playtest (play as many games as possible trying to 'break' the rules with said monster), Tweek And Repeat (keep on doing this until it 'works').

If I either posted my lurkers in the forum, or sent a submission (as mentioned in the Shocking Tales book 1) would it be possible to get points allocated to it without giving the secret?

 (I have these stats on a web site too, so I can provide a link for a review as well as submitting the work done)

I would say go ahead and post 'em...let everyone debate and at some point they will get a points allocation.
