Looking really good... is owning both forces that unusual? Guarantees a game, but in our house it's me and my son Slug who play and we tend to pick opposing teams, based on me having great taste and him having none at all...  lol

eheh 6milPhil  :)
not unusual for me too. I'm planning to play a wwII game with a non-nerd friend of mine who is absolutely unable (and not interested) in assembling and painting miniatures. He just like the idea to play. So I'm collecting two forces, british and nazi. I think it's far better not to paint a single army...it could be boring on the long period  :D
but my wallet is crying.... :'(

Well i guess its not that unusual after all...I'm in the same boat...I'm hoping to game with guys that have no interest in owning any figures...but are willing to game with me...thankfully owning both sides of a conflict is much easier to do with a WWII skirmish game than say with WFB armies.

We should be able to have excellent games with less than 30 models a side...and if I can get my painting system down to an assembly line I'm confident I can do 60 models pretty quickly.... lol...anyway...I'm considering experimenting with some dip ..or future and ink type wash for these guys...With a good brown for the Brits and a good black Germans that might really speed things up...the experimenting will continue!

Cheers,

Blue

Alright...I've managed to finish up my first Squad of Brits and am fairly happy with how they came out....Basing makes all figures look better!  Now its off to finish the first German Squad.

Let me know what you think.

cheers,

Blue

 :)

Thanks guys...this is my first real attempt to paint a group of figures quickly and I'm fairly happy with them.

The bases really make them IMO...those army painter tufts really look good and are so quick!

Cheers,

Blue

If the german soldiers in your unit are to depict solders from the early war period, then the uniform should be in line with this:

Helmet german grey or grey-green with double decals
Fieldgrey Uniform Tunic with dark/bottle green collar
Stonegrey Uniform Pants
black boots

I hope this is of some help. I can give suggestions of very good litterature if needed.

Gallows Falls - Western Village
Eisende - Mordheim costal village WIP
Rome - SPQR & Hail Caesar
