Reverse side of German field police direction paddle???
« on: 29 August 2011, 02:06:44 AM »
I have seen many pictures and photos of German field police directing traffic with what I will call a direction paddle (don't know the real name).  It is a white circle on a long stick.  Those pictures/photos always show the circle with a red dot in the middle.  Is that because there is a red dot on both sides?  If not, what is on the reverse side from the red dot?  Thank you.  Richard

White with orange and green text and symbol on the front side and white with orange in the middle on the back side. Or... red with white dot in middle. I think there might have been several versions, or they are both wrong.

Most pictures I've seen of the traffic wand tend to show the simple orange-red/white variant which appears to be identical on both sides.  This model shows it that way.

There may be another version which has the colours reversed, with HALT and POLIZEI in white on the red outer circle and a green (luminous?) Feldgendarmerie badge in the centre but I haven't found an actual photo of it yet.
