That's a coincidence, I saw some martian rioters on the Brigade Games stand at Fall In...........apparently a future release for the Paroom Station line.  Very nice they looked too.

regarding GASLIGHT,
I do own these rules, they are very interesting and I will give them a try very soon, we can keep in touch to compare the two sets.
First thing I can say is that it was SO DIFFICULT to obtain a set of VFS rules here in Europe. There is a single vendor in USA, they are not available in pdf format.
I believe GASLIGHT is so popular partly because their selling policy is different.
Tomorrow we will play a new game, I will try to give you hints of the game mechanics.

PS: if you have any link or news on the Martian rioters I would be pleased to look after them. Have your best VSF game ever very soon, don't just collect!!!

Jolly nice stuff - any chance of a close-up of the mounted Martian leader?

NEW PICTURES ON SATURDAY!
We will have a second game, close-ups of martian troops are coming!
Regarding formed troops, I think it is a good idea to have specific rules for such a period. During XIX century troops had the option to stay in close formation.
The rules foresee an advantage in melee and the possibility of firing volley (I amended the rules, for me it requires to stay in formation on TWO lines, but such a dense formation is a good target).
The main disadvantage is that it cannot be kept on some terrain, after melee, and irregular troops cannot be in this formation.
Martian Royal troops are regulars and drilled for fighting in formation of course. it is written on all drill manuals!
