Riots in Barsoom
« on: November 21, 2011, 10:40:03 AM »
hello,

yesterday we played a very fun VSF game using Valor Steel and Flesh rules by Parroom Enterprises, where rioters, royal martians, british and french were struggling for the control of the city of Kadabra.
The british governor got killed by high martians at the end, so the control shifted back to martians (with some french advisor..).
We plan to replay the game next friday, with more players and factions.
The game setup unfortunately is in italian, but the battle report (and photos!) is not. I am still writing in fact..
I will gladly receive any suggestions from your prolific minds on the plot for the next adventure on the same table setup!
Some discussion on the rules themselves would be greatly appreciated, I have a few questions to raise. Are there any players around in the ether?

cheers Stefano

Delightful, proper VSF at its best. ;D

Excellent! Lots of eye candy in proper VSF style.  :-*

dear all,

thank you for the encouragement! Yes the ship is from Ironclad. British and French troops are Redoubt. Martians are RAFM.

I am building two lovely Martian Skiffs which came from USA. As soon as they are ready I will post some pictures.

Is anybody there playing the Parroom Station VSF rules? We enjoy them very much. The settings are e bit more "modern" than the original Space 1889 settings which I like very much, but the rule flow is very fast.
I have to admit that some parts of the rules need a look at the original Brother against Brother rules for a better understanding, but they are in general rather clear.

I have a question about the use of formed troops in melee, are there any experts I can ask, eventually off-line?

cheers Stefano

Lovely stuff, that!

I am also a semi-regular G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. player; I would like to hear a compare and contrast of V.S.F., though. Need someone who loves, or hates, both so I can hear a 'fair and balanced'.  lol

I don't recall ever hearing 'formed troops in melee' in a G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. discussion, so maybe I can take that as a hint.

Doug
