Is Darkson Degins Closed?
« on: 08 February 2012, 10:42:30 AM »
Swung over to their web store to check out of their new AEWWII Jap minis and was stunned to see that they have 9 minis to sell from their entire catalog?! :o  Did they close shop and selling off their stock or is something else going down? Anyone know where to get more then the 9 minis they got in their store at?  If so let me know.

Might be a good time to pick up any minis from Darkson that you meant to get because you might not have another chance in the future,
Brian

I think they may have some problems with transition from their caster (Cipher; who basically seemed to pick them up only to focus on Helldorado and to a lesser extent Anima Tactics - but that is purely my speculation), as well as RL stuff.

I don't think they are officially closed, but things are certainly 'quiet'.

On their forum they mentioned a new casting partner last year.

I the meantime I saw this US stockist with at least 100+ SKU's of products:

But you may want to check availability with them first?

Thanks for the heads up.  I've done the whole "Find a new caster thing" when I owned What The?! but my catalog was small so I was able to bounce back quick but with a biz with over a 100+ products that might be a bit more tougher to do.  Right Lon;)

Hope they sort it out and continue on,
Brian

Isn't that the truth. While my decision was to bring it "in-house," my initial plans of having my brother cast went South after he stopped 3 months in (that was after offering a guy who works for my Dad to do it as a second job since he needed the money and was quite handy. I guess he really wasn't that motivated to meet his expenses as he decided not to do it.)

While I did not need the extra work I just decided the safest thing with the least disruption was to do it myself and I have been doing it ever since.

Not sure what is going on with Darkson. You know the owner used to be the Vallejo importer into the USA as well but gave that up too. Not really sure what is going on as he has been quite for a while.

If you are looking for a few of the Darkson items, I have some still in stock - I just added them to the Bargain Basement:
