Inso, that walker looks cool! I've got no idea what I'll use them for, but I'm hanging out for those walkers to finally be released...

I said it in the other thread, but your force was a big inspiration on what I'm doing. So cheers -- love your work!

I can't wait for more to be released but I know what they'll get used for (I want a squadron of them) :) .

I am glad you like my Grymn  :D

I have discovered something...not all decals are made the same.

I have been using decals from all over the place this week and have managed (with a little bit of pain) to add decals to the troops and vehicles of the first of the platoons.

Things I have learned:

1. Gloss the areas where the decals go (I don't have any decal fix...so gloss varnish was the way to go)
2. I need more practice with decal sol
3. You have to be INSANELY careful with flattening decals that have had sol applied
4. Once the decals are on, some of them don't like Humbrol gloss cote and desolve if your brush touches them
5. If you are careful and just blob on the gloss, it floats over the top of the decals without damaging them
6. I found it quite intimidating to think about adding tiny decals to my troops...but once I got going it was quite easy.
7. You soon get a 'system' going

So now I have a platoon and its vehicles marked with decals and gloss varnished ready for a matt varnish.

I still have to add rank to the officers and NCOs but I will do that with paint. I may also add some vehicle registration plates to the armour but have yet to make my mind up on that (and don't have any decals for it)...so I'll worry that later.

I'll pop some pix up later :) .

So...another day and another update.  Here is an example of the rank I have applied to my troops:

(Yellow = Officer and Red = NCO). It is simple to understand and easy to paint...BARGAIN! :) .

And what could be a better way of starting a week's holiday with a new platoon?:

I spent most of yesterday cleaning, basing and undercoating these ready to repeat the process...

...I haven't touched the transports yet and won't do so until these troops are the same standard as the last platoon (PAINT wise...no decals just glossed ready for them).

I tried to find a spray matt varnish in town yesterday but failed miserably so the tanks will have to stay shiny for the time being. The troops will be getting a brushed on coat of matt varnish so they will have all of their nooks and crannies dulled down this week...

SUPER  :D !
