Gutbukkit's Apocalyptic Vision
« on: 28 October 2012, 10:39:11 AM »
So it's been in the works for some time now. Ever since joining this forum I have admired others' Post Apocalyptic projects, the Fallout and Borderlands inspired ones particular catching my eye. So much so I had to go out and buy Fallout 3 and New Vegas to immerse myself in that world. My gaming and modelling projects till now have been mainly fantasy based.

After a couple of years of buying stuff and not doing a lot else other than hoarding (and taken to keeping every bottle cap I find, what the hell...?!) I have finally made a start.

So without further rambling here is my first attempt at a rusty Marx car of the future to fit in with the Fallout inspired world I hope to create. More to follow tonight. I have one more car almost complete and a Securitron that should also be done.

It's a Marx cars of the future which I bought off ebay last year. They come up every now and then in packs of 4. Haven't seen them on there recently though.

I've been told you can't get them anymore.
I just checked ebay and some one is trying to get $700 usd for some old painted ones!
I'm lucky I got mine when I did!
Yours looks great by the way.  :-*
Puts mine to shame.  :'(

Thanks. Glad I got mine when I did too. I wish I got more at the time cos I feel 8 is just not enough. Your project is actually one of the ones that has inspired me and I've looked back on your cars and they are brilliant, kinda the look I was trying to go for. I just hope I can see the whole project through to the level yours has got to.

Thanks for the comments folks.
A little update; 1 more car finished and one almost finished (needs the seat and window painting), also the first of many securitrons, this one being Yes Man (cos his face was easier to paint). I'm not so happy with these cars as I was with the first but they will do the job.

Wow! Those are really awesome! :o I managed to pick up 16 of em last year off of Ebay, but haven't gotten around to painting them yet. This thread is just the push I needed to get me off my brains and get painting. Very cool stuff!

These are great! I'm going to have to try to find some when they're NOT being pushed for $700 on Ebay. :P
