Barsoomian flyer

I'm working on a small, 6 man flyer based on the John Carter stories.
This is a picture of the master as it is now. Once I'm happy with it I'll be
casting a few to use in a VSF game I'll be running at a convention later this year.



What do you think? I was considering putting in some lines of rivets but I like the sleekness of it too.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Ouuh, neat. For this one, once, I´d forego the rivets ("Heresy", the little riveter in my head screams!), but how about adding ornamental carvings or embossings (separate pieces, of course), especially to the bow and hood? That´d be another way to express "Victorian" than rivets...

I'm with Chris. Rivets would seem out of place on Barsoom. In my mind, the flyers were more sleek and less Victorian.

Agreed. I would make them more like Renaisance Ottoman or Venetian galleys, rather than drawing inspiration from Ironclads and Landships.

great piece, well-formed and elegant. No rivets, that's a marsian ship, carvings would be nice for sure

Plenty of wood in the Victorian styles/eras.

No rivets or portholes - or anything 'navy' looking like hatches or exposed pipes.  I would go with smooth  flowing lines and some ornamental designs.

Ok, I got a few pieces cast up out of the first run of molds. The outrigger pods still need some clean up and I need to find some clear disks for the propellers.
