Camcorder Newbie seeks advice

Hi guys, I want to buy a camcorder to make Brink of Battle training videos and battle reports. I'm a fish out of water on this techie stuff.  I like the Sony brand of electronics. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions on what I should get to make these vids?

Thanks for the info Scurv. I appreciate all the advice I can get. Drew has a degree in doing the video editing stuff, so we're covered there, but I certainly appreciate you volunteering. 

We have a professional photographer coming in to shoot the Epic Heroes Fantasy supplement and he's got gobs of lighting etc.

What many customers want is a How To video on playing Brink of Battle.  I'm just trying to get a good camcorder to pull double duty for that and for our kids who will be arriving soon.
