Cast ones 100%. The plastic used for those straws is almost completely unpaintable, at least if you cannot place the pieces in an area where it will not get touched. Maybe do a set of 4 arms on a sprue, and separate hands.

Yeah, you're right, no chance to get paint stuck on them... I updated the pics above!

Hi, almost finished... this is the first casting. I'm not quite sure about the gun in the hull (where the big hole is).... something like a window could be better there...

Nice work. What colour scheme did you use?
Don't!

Color scheme? I took the big ol' brush and drybrushed boltgun metal, then copper on some parts. Took 2 minutes, I just needed some paint for the photo  lol

It might just be me - but your model has a look of the sub-aqua about it?  I think it may be the tentacle type arms and legs, combined with the old school diver-like 'face plate'.  If a hose plugged into the smoke stack, the illusion would be complete.

I can just imagine it striding along the sea bed and stumbling upon some ancient Atlantean ruins :)

Nice work, I really like the end result of using those bendy straws. They look really good!
