Our second green for the "Champions of History" line, this piece once again sculpted by the talented James Van Schaik. This character would be most appropriate for the Pulp/Interwar era, but would probably work well for modern games, too. Then again, swap out those pistols for a pair of flintlocks, alter the holsters a bit... and you've got a decent Gunpowder era hero, too.

I can imagine, for some strange reason, pairing him with a canine companion of some kind...

Once again, I think James has captured the spirit of this character quite well. I suspect that he'll paint up beautifully.

Approximately 28mm scale. Once again, no idea yet on pricing, but he will at least be available as an individual figure.

Hope you enjoy!

The figure looks great, but I'm far from thrilled with the guns.  They're chunky and look nothing like real pistols.  That quibble aside, though, I'm intrigued.

THis is a totally wicked mini, although his feet look huge in some shots.  Camera trick, I hope?

I don't know what Monk is talking about, I think the guns look pretty good. I am a little concerned about the position of the left arm, though. It appears to be thrown back so far that the position looks painful/unnatural. The feet do look a little big, but I wondered if that might not be a fisheye effect of the photograph...

Fairly minor complaints, still a good-looking figure!

I think the feet are fine for the figure, though they do seem a little larger in some of the shots - again, like others have suggested, probably a trick of the camera.

Very grateful you like him guys. I can't -wait- to see what the third fig in the range looks like (well, I have a rough idea, but haven't seen the green yet).

Never mind the feet and the guns, he actually looks like Billy Zane!  :o The horror, the horror...!

Well, it is the weekend, I suppose.

Nice figure, Doc, I can see this one really taking off. Does he come with a fiendishly clever dog/horse support combo too?

Mal -

Purple? I'd -never- even thought of that particular combination;)  Glad you like him.

It's odd how some men can pull off tights, and others can't. Perhaps I should do a Richard Simmons figure just to show that dichotomy;)  When Jen (the wife/fellow gamer/nerd/etc.) first saw the greens, she actually thought he (the Ghost here - NOT Richard Simmons  :o) was shirtless.

Bob -

The facial resemblance to a certain actor was unplanned on my end and, I agree, rather uncanny. Glad you like him, too!
I would like very much to pair him with canine and equid companions, but I suspect that packaging them together might be crossing the "generic" figure line.

That's not to say that I wouldn't consider having a canine and a mounted version done up at some point, just being cautious at the moment.

On a slightly related note, the wolf is actually quite possible in the next wave, as one of the things I'd like to do is a pack of canine companions. Dogs in this scale are pretty hard to come by (though Bob Much does a great Bully, and there's a beautiful Great Dane in the Red Baron set from Woodbine). I suspect there would be some interest in that.

Guns are cool, eben if not historical?
The arm can be bent into position when cast in metal?
The feet are fine. At this scale everything is exagerated anyway...

Like I said, I like him.  However, if you really want some useful criticism, show him off at Frothers (if you haven't already).  Put on your self-esteem armor first though.

Looks very nice. I agree that the left arm is thrown back a bit too far. Other than that...a very splendid piece of work indeed!! 8)

There certainly would be interest in that!

If you do decide to do a "Dog Pack" lol Please be sure to include a floppy Basset Hound to go along with Artizan's Lieutenant Shab (Columbo). I've had a project to paint up a Lt. Shab figure for my girlfriend (a huge Columbo fan) on hold for a long while now for want of an appropriate dog...

Okay, that's two out of two so far that I'll have to order. Looking forward to the third one.  ;)
