"Battletech" in 28mm!
« on: 09 May 2014, 09:37:59 PM »
Ok, so not technically Battletech, but it is giant stompy robots in 1/56 scale.

This is a convention game that we ran a couple weeks ago at the Little Wars Convention in the Chicago Suburbs. We used the Mech Attack rules (streamlined battletech-lite-ish) and the vehicles are a mix of Robotech/macross kits and toys, russian Robogear mechs, Kryomek striders, AT43, and a few others.  Without infantry (we removed them from this year's game) scale is a bit hard to judge, but these are mostly 5-9 inches tall.  As a reference for  comparison, the small round bases are frozen juice concentrate lids and the big bases are CD's

And of course to entice you to read the full battle report ( http://chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com/2014/05/mech-attack-battle-report-from-little.html ) here are just a few examples of the tasty mecha-porn you'll find there.
Enjoy!

Awesome stuff...and I recall another 28mm thread from a while back - same guys or different project?  Lookin' good.  I think the other thread was strictly Battletech.

Glad you folks enjoyed it.

IIRC There's someone else doing 28mm BT, but I also may have posted last year's convention Mech Attack game.  http://chicagoskirmish.blogspot.com/2013/05/epic-photo-dump-from-little-wars-2013.html
It was a combined arms game with mechs, infantry and ground vehicles.   It went well, but I had a hunch that an all mech game would be best for a convention setting and be easiest to run and the results seemed to confirm that. I think that next year I may be able to run the event all on my own.
