Any hobby use for 25%-100% cotton paper?
« on: 20 June 2014, 07:46:34 AM »
In need of printer paper, came across a pack of Southworth premium 25% cotton inkjet and laser paper at Staples. Examined a few pages in an open pack and it felt a little different from ordinary inkjet paper, though not as much as if it were 50%-100% cotton. Anyone use pure or partial cotton paper in hobby applications? How about for flags or tents? Better results with 50% or higher versions?

Using it for sails might be a good application. What are the folding properties like?

cheers

FAQs About Paper

Felt pretty much like ordinary bright white inkjet paper and the texture isn't that far off, though didn't buy it, as it wasn't on the list - Southworth's higher cotton content paper might feel different, but there weren't any other versions at this Staples. It's about $12.99 for 250 sheets, while Hammermill inkjet paper, my brand of choice, is ~$13-$15 for 500. After reading the FAQ, I might pick up a pack and AFAIK, this version doesn't have the watermark, so more space for flags.
